Good idea. I'll make something in the next few days. It's going to be something akin to the infamous "Eric Fields the David Haye destroyer" thread

The British Isles is a geographic location not a political one.
It is the same as Scandanavia and while it would be correct to use the term British Islander, British would still be incorrect.

The using of British Isles isn't nearly as commonplace as it once was due to it incorporating an island that isn't part of Britain and therefore being a sort of false term.

excellant, the Skulli Armannsson Express........I'm already on board !

Could he then be described as a Briton rather than British.

Maybe it's meant to be Mosfellsbaer ?

No not that either as the meaning of a Briton is someone from the island of Britain between the Iron and Middle Age, of course it's carried on to modern day use but Duddy is certainly not from the island of Britain.

During that time Britons were indeed Celts themselves(of course the Scots and some Welsh and a small amount of English still are) just a different group to that of Ireland and the Isle of Man .

Although a large amount of the Scots were of the same Celtic type as the Irish where as the English Celts were the same as that in Brittany in France.

    Basically, no.

I would not mind Duddy being British. He would be a good stepping stone for someone like Smith or Bendall.

Ask Paul Appleby or Craig McEwan if they`re British and they`ll say , " No , Scottish".
Craig , however , is a Hibby. Does that make him Irish?
It seems that when the UK carries out its next census we will each be asked if we consider ourselves British , or , Scots, Welsh, English, Irish, Bengali Welsh,Yemani English, Bangladeshi Irish etc. I suspect that the only ones calling themselves British will be Ulster Prods!
Anyway why is Craig Mcewan not on the list? And what about the Olympic Hopefulls, some of whom will turn Pro after the Games.

Craig McEwan will never be a world title standard fighter and is hardly better than a domestic level prospect.

Why isn't Mitchell on the list? He'll surely get a stab at a WBO SF title sooner or later.

Mitchell is next in line for the WBO SFW title - he has earnt that virtue by winning the interalphabetty strap.

But does the WBO class as a legitimate world title - I know Dan and Mike have strident views on this subject and I am beginning to come around to their way of thinking.

Alex is only a paper champ anyway - he was gifted the interim title and defended it against nobodies until Guzman decided the Nate Campbell fight is more meaningful and moved up....

    The voilaaaaa......

Another Sports Network WBO champ. Nicky Cook isn't a legitimate world title challenger anyway really, a solid Euro/gatekeeper level fighter if honest. Kevin isn't ready either - he has power and guts, but needs to stop blocking punches with his face if he wants to be a genuine champ without making endless meaningless defences of the WBO.

None really, which is quite depressing. The only guy I would give a chance to is Khan.

All three are of similar ability. Duddy is just a tough kid and nothing more, same can be said of these two. Who ever won could claim a shot at the British title but I doubt any are good enough to win it.
