Which career set?

Aren't there only like 15-20 fights available though? Not saying that's to be sniffed at, my admiration for Olivares doesn't need to be repeated, but the options above are far more accesible.

Actually yeh a Duran set probably would be better. Aside from Arguello one of my favrouites.

Also if you can try buy a DVD called Latin Legends, memorable not only for a great docu on Latin boxing but for Arguello and Durans political views at the end.

And one day you may even buy the Fleamans production Bantam Belters: Olivares, Rudkin & Rose

 

I dont care Olivares is amazing, a beast.

I have always said Olivares to beat Jofre, I think his quicker feet will allow him to land his harder shots and be harder to hit than Jofre, although I could see Jofre koing him.

And you never know! I might write a book on it instead, mini-autobiographies of each fighter, then fight analysis, reports, breakdowns, where are they know?etc etc.

Good analysis on Jofre-Olivares. Jofre is sturdier IMO, that will see him through the Hellish moments easier, and allow him to be more composed and force the later rounds.

Thing is the Olivares who destroyed Rose really looked complete and a wrecking ball. Would you favour any Bantamweight ever to match him offensivly in that fight? His variety and ferociousness is breathtaking, now Jofre has an awesome offence but it wasnt as dynamic or as relentless as that.

Although Jofre was much sturdier and IMO better defensivly and could catch Olivares with a poleaxing straight right to win.

Going by footage though, I agree on your Olivares point. Still think Jofre would do it, but say Olivares gets him in trouble early like Harada did in the 4th round f their first fight?!?

Olivares was the best offensive mahcine at Bantam, I agree.

Jofre definitly has the precise shots to do damage and hold his own in exchanges, I just prefer Olivares more varied and dynamic approach, although if it did go to a punch for punch type battle I would favour Jofres cleaner shots to win a decision or late KO, if Olivares utilised his footspeed and constantly chnaged angles I think he gets it.

If Olivares gets him in trouble. mmmmmm.

I think Harada had a pretty good effort of finishing him off, did he not? Olivares is slightly better at finishing but lacks the pure ruthlessness of Haradas 1,000 hook/bolos. I think Jofre could survive it due to his defence and chin and also the fatc I dont think Olivares could go full out offence on Jofre and get away with it.

 

True. I do think it was Hatadas pace rather than power that got Jofres attention.

A non stop punching machine against I guess a non-stop if slightly more cultured non-stop punching machine.

How do you think Harada's power is at Flyweight, he hit Kingpetch non stp for round after round and never really seriously hurt him till the later rounds and even then it was a RTD

 

Not a massive puncher, but a hurtful one and dangerous to very good chins because of his engine.

Which fights of Durans are in your career set? Mine isn't as big as it could be, will invest in a bigger set soon methinks.

Palomino=Durans best performance IMO.
