Ron's one of those well conditioned animals that really doesnt even look cut but is extremely strong, durable and well coordinated.

It takes more than being athletically gifted to get in the ring and do well, its a science it takes many years of practice and hard work to get good at it. The same thing goes with a boxer trying to play another sport, even though RJJ is pretty good at basketball, he would of never made a pro team.

Did anyone see Alan Partridge in a comic relief special lace up the gloves? He sucker punched some kid, pretty good shot. Glass chin though..., the kid steamrolled him with a jab straight after...

Peter Crouch. You could only punch him in the knees, and he would have wicked jab, aswell. :yep

i choose artest because of his size

    6 ft 8

    probably 240 ish

and you saw what he did when he ran in crowd

a rumor ( not so much a rumor because i know someone who can verify this) went around that in one of their practices or games he got mixed up in a play and he got his tooth knocked out (the root and all) and then just spit his tooth out and continued to go on about his business.... if thats not tough i dont know what is

Well he's more 6'7 but either way he's a big dude....I played against Ron in HS while he attended LaSalle in NYC. The sheer strength on this dude was ridiculous I would'nt doubt he continued to play after suffering such an injury.....mentally he's as stubborn as a bull and that would play into his fortitude in the ring. Someone mentioned the fact that all these athletes still would not excel at other sports which to some degree is true. I'm thinking the author assuming they where trained properly for years.

Im not mad, I was just stating that just becuase your athletically gifted in one sport doesnt mean it will translate into being good at another completely different sport. I dont know if you remember when Jimmy Ellis, a former pro football player fought George Foreman in 91, he got his head beat in for 3 rounds and at one point George look at the ref in the second round, pretty much asking him to stop it before Ellis got hurt.

I got nothing against your thread or whatever, but theres no pro football or Basketball player that would ever be able to make the jump to boxing and do well at it, your just comparing 2 completely different sports IMO.

Did you see Manute Bol fight the football player (was it the Fridge? :think) in a Celebrity Boxing match a while back?

It was hilarious! The other guy simply couldn't reach Bol's head!
