amateur fights? what was his record and how many pro fights did he have? then total.now think which fighters could have been better champions or held the title longer if they didnt have all those fights that little by little take something out of you each after each bout.

I know Donald Curry had a ridiculous amount of amateur fights.

Either listed as 400-6 or 400-4.

a featherweight who fought barry mcguigan had a very dominant record
thulane malinga also had a devastating am record
terry norris had a immense record even though he had only been fighting in the ams for 4 years.

wow 2-3-400-500 amateur fights, then on to the pros! how shop worn were these guys by the time they hit the pros and how would they have fared(held the title longer) if not for all the wear and tear? on the other hand look at all the experience they had .they would have to have known every trick in the book.

amatuer fights dont take much out of a fighter i think about 500 amatuer fights would be about equvilant to about 100 pro fights and if you think boxers in the past was boxing 150+ fights it aint much
