David Price is virtually guaranteed, so that's not really what I am curious about here. Rather, it is a question of whether the mandible of Anthony Joshua or Alexander Povetkin is exposed as more fragile than heretofore it may have been seen. There are a fair amount of folks who have suggested that Joshua is hiding a suspect jaw, but there doesn't seem to be much overt evidence of it, yet. But these folks could be right. Certainly we have seen fighters who had allegations made about their questionable whiskers and then, BOOM, they were shown to be right. What about Povetkin. Certainly his chin has generally been regarded as pretty solid, UP TO NOW. But the fact that Price had him staggering around the ring before his glass jaw got shattered for the umpteenth time raises questions here. Guys who have shown reasonably good whiskers for most of their careers have seen them go south quickly as they aged. My guess is the latter scenario holds true that what Price has revealed about Povetkin's fading punch resistance will be confirmed BRUTALLY this evening, as Joshua obliterates what is left of Povetkin's once-solid mandible.
Two of the biggest punchers collide in boxing should be a nice afternoon. I think Sasha is a legit dynamite contender but is undersized and will likely be a Highlight reel KO. Let's just hope Sa$ha doesn't flop around the ring like he did vs the Warlock Wlad. One things for sure Sa$ha is +696 underdog you know the deal. I've seen pics of Sa$ha at a few lodges, I expect him to be flat like a tortilla this weekend
AJ took Wladimir's hardest shot and even he did go down (lost balance and didn't want to get attacked more), he wasn't even hurt and smiled. He has a great chin. Wladimir landed good right hands, uppercuts all night but it had no effect. It will be very difficult for Povetkin to hurt AJ.
Okolie's mandible has me highly suspicious. Hopefully we will find out today what kind of substance he packs in there.
I'm expecting a very negative fight from him. Askin won't get any help from the ref and its up to him to take the initiative and really ask those questions. I think he loses a boring, foul ridden and quite possibly controversial decision in the end though.
It's actually more a question of who's fist is going to crack, and be exposed tonight? Who gets exposed as a GREATER feather fist tonight, in this fight? Since both guys have had their punching power and their fists somewhat exposed already in some of their previous fights. This is the best opportunity to find out, who is the GREATER feather fist and has the more suspect punch / fist of the two. I guess we'll find out tonight!
Yeah, I also expect Povetkin to be flattened tonight. He barely survived Price. To me, his mandible is looking pretty suspect these days.
I agree with your age argument. Povetkin's jaw has hitherto held up to some hard punchers, but at the age of 39 he can not be expected to be able to take what he could take in his early or mid thirties. He should be our prime suspect for tonight.
