I never bought into Edwin Rosario much. He was in that stable w/ a favorite in Wilfredo Gomez, and used that elbow out style just like bazooka. i just didn't think he had the tools and certainly did not have the legs of the early Gomez.

I know lots of folks touted him as a can't miss guy but I just figured him to be what he was, win a title type but too many flaws to hold onto a title very long. I actually preferred his nemisis of sorts, JL Ramirez and I wasn't too big on him either.

Another way of looking at it:

I always wanted to see the best in Jack Johnson from a historical standpoint. His story is in my opinion the greatest and most compeling in the history of the sport.

As a man, and in terms of his historical impact, I could never put him on the pedestal I wanted to.

The romantic and enigmatic Jack Johnson gave way to the dowdy and unasuming Joe Louis as the ring general who destroyed the colour bar.

Both were better when guys were coming at them. When you have two guys who aren't used to leading then that can lead to yawn-causing fights. I admire them as fighters & love lots of their fights(well I wish more Jimmy footage keeps popping up) but I didn't really enjoy their encounter. Ali looking like he couldn't be bothered & Young being a bit too cautious.

being from the younger generation, it is hopkins. He is boring to watch, they call cheap shots and tie ups the skills of a vertan instead of what they are, and he made a lot of money beating up smaller guys...De La Hoya, Pavlik, Tito, Winky, etc.

Unfortunately, I am a man of my word, my brother. Almost always usually for the most part.

Michael Spinks was a prodigeous talent, an ATG by any measure AND a decent human being BUT I was never a fan.
