It has nothing to do with a country. It has entirely to do with nutrition and the amount of head trauma a person receives as a child. I would imagine American football has eliminated a lot of promising boxers due to the number of concussions received in Pop Warner and equivalent leagues at early ages. Same holds true for soccer in most European countries. These types of injuries are now under the microscope since so many athletes are having problems related to concussions. Initially, it was US football. More recently the discussion has centered around headers in soccer.

Poor nutrition would be the other and I would imagine this would have a greater impact on most African countries. By the time you see an African fighting at the international level he has already been through the various filters but I will bet there are an awful lot of Africans that cannot hold up in the ring due to lack of a proper diet when young. The Ibeabuchis and Peters are rare. But you can tell neither of them ever missed a meal and probably kicked the **** out of their peers for that daily meal.
