so according to you if you're NOT mexican and still voted for mexico it means that you don't have boxers in your country or don't know anything about it??

    :patsch:patsch:patsch

most people voting aren't even mexican they're just keeping it real and answering the thread question :deal

and if they are here in ESB it's because they show interest in the sport, otherwise they wouldn't have an account on a random boxing website

give credit where credit is due, and stop cryin about it :|

A lot of tough fighters come from all over the world. Mexico, U.S., Argentina, Panama, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, basically a lot of the Latin American countries. But it seems to me a lot of these places known for their tough fighters are slowly producing and accepting fighters to be more of a slick boxer and defensive rather than someone coming foward and making it I hit you and you hit me type of fight.

Mestizo is not really a race, its a combination of races. If you are saying Gamboa is 20% white, 20% native, and 60% black (not sure how you would know that) then hes about as Black as any other Black athlete out there. He possesses handspeed that I have never seen in any Mexican fighter that is certain.

Calling Gamboa latino (while it is true) makes about as much sense as calling Chad Dawson anglo. In the end, neither distinction has much to do with race.

prime oscar, jonny tapia, marco antonio barrera, and ruben castillo had speed that easily matched gamboas. But yes I agree race n reality has zilch to do with it its more the methods used to prepare a fighter that count, but just so happens many beatings have been given to or by great mexican fighters and nothing less is expected from them. Mexican fans are the most demanding.

I disagree that those athletes have/had hand speed that matches Gamboa's. Oscar? Are you serious :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Either way, my original point was not addressing Gamboa alone. I was referring to Black athletes in general that I have analyzed. But someone attempted to say Gamboa was not Black, which is why the conversation started to center around him.
