No to Tarver but if Johnson were to pull an upset and win another title you might have to consider him:think Especially all the tough breaks hes had he seems to have had more good wins than Tarver even though they split their fights.
Gatti doesn't deserve to get in. He lost to Ivan Robinson twice who got beaten by a beyond-shot Chavez. Exciting fighter and I love him, but he was never near elite.
I have to disagree with you there, Boom_Boom....Shane is a 3 weight div champ, went from 135 to 147 and beat a prime DLH, was p4p # 1 for a short period, and has been a top welterweight for the last decade. Rafa was the man at 118, and 122, was involved in one of the greatest trilogies in recent times, and if he manages to beat Juanma this coming September, then definetly gets in the IBHOF IMO.
I don't think so. Both are very borderline candidates. My shoo-ins: Evander Holyfield James Toney Manny Pacquaio Floyd Mayweather Jr. Roy Jones Jr. Juan Manuel Marquez Marco Antonio Barrera Erik Morales Israel Vazquez Rafael Marquez Shane Mosley Bernard Hopkins Borderline guys with a good shot: Wladimir Klitschko Pongsaklek Wonjongkam Winky Wright (if he's still active) Ricky Hatton (ditto) Miguel Cotto Fernando Montiel Jorge Arce Joel Casamayor Jose Luis Castillo Ivan Calderon Guys close to having a shot but who need to do a bit more: Vic Darchinyan Jermain Taylor Vitali Klitschko David Haye Tomasz Adamek
He'd be a shoo-in, but I don't consider him to be active. Same for Hoya, Tyson, Hearns, Calzaghe, etc.
I agree with most of what has been said... Especially about Cotto. He deserves to be heavily considered. A few more quality wins would surely put him over the top and make him a sure thing.
:good Fully agree with this, winds me up when people think the HOF should be exclusively based on their record.
