BUt Gatti had a combo of both accomplishments and legendary fights winning 2 world titles and competiting at top of 4 different divisions. Even then Gatti going in is questionable but i wouldnt argue against it either. Augustus has always been a tough customer for anyone but he has never even been rated among the divisions best.
Exactly!! :deal Hall of Fame...in my opinion at least is not just about resumes and who boxers beat. When you are entered in to the HoF, you are being recognized for all the hardwork you have put in to the sport...I mean some boxers acutally put everything on the line in there. People talk like there is a limit on how many boxers can eventually enter into the HoF, and how one boxer can devalue the whole HoF. If the HoF was just based on great resumes...not as many boxers would be considered for the HoF. Cotto has one of best resumes from the past 20 years, is a 3 weight world champion, and people are still saying he doesn't deserve to be considered? Same with Shane Mosley... This just proves that the HoF isn't just about resumes! Anyone who influenced the sport, anyone who took an aspect of the sport to another level whilst competing at world level and picking up titles deserves to be inducted in to the HoF at some point in my opinion. You may need to have a great resume, whilst winning World Titles in X amount of divisions...picking up victorys over X amount of prime, future ATG's to appear on the ATG list. But thats not how I look at who should be inducted in to the HoF.
