Wilder hasn’t come close to beating anybody on Joshua’s level. Joshua on the other had has beaten at least one man far better than Wilder.
I misunderstood the question, so ticked every box except Franklin. I thin k all the others MIGHT beat AJ but only TWO definite. Obviously Fury and Usyk. He beats neither as long as he has a hole in his bum. All the others he might beat but in turn might lose to. Thats including Whyte, who he IS fighting. Only my opinion but I dont think well find out about many, if any, of the others because I think hes rapidly losing interest and will retire very soon, probably next year after this fight. December im sure will not happen.
For sure. I thin k the old AJ probably beats them all after a struggle but loses to moist if not all now. But thats academic. @joe91
If he gets past Whyte I the nk that would be an ideal fight to cap his career off. Reckon he'd outpoint Miller in a good scrap, but the build up would be entertaining . But cos of Millers past it wont happen.
do you think once a boxer becomes gun shy it stays with them? are there boxers who became gun shy for a while and refound the confidence to let their hands go? genuinely interested if there are some.
Big Audley looked good during a Prize Fighter Tournament when he let his hands go but he was far too scared to throw punches before and after that. The acid test for your question will be Okolie - great power and he really should be blasting Billam-Smith types away but he hugs to protect his low pain threshold. Very frustrated watching Joshua toiling against Franklin as he looked terrified to be hit and mentally should be focussed on landing his own power punches. It was the same against Usyk although the target was more difficult to hit. Whyte will fold like a deckchair when hit and perhaps this may give Joshua confidence going into the Wilder fight but he will learn nothing new. Needs to find more resilience in adversity when stepping up against live opponents who come to win and believe that his own punches will worry his opponents more than what he is being hit with.
excellent post. My position on AJ is I really hope he does revert to throwing hands but don't think he will. He does look terrified and it is sadly Audleyesque.
