Tillis did I never mentioned him as not fighting to win he was 29 years old in shape and came to fight.I haven't seen the Green one for years its possible I'm wrong. This account makes you right and me wrong on Green.

"Mike Tyson pressured Green throughout, delivered some smashing blows to the head and body, and won a unanimous decision at Madison Square Garden. Tyson three times knocked out Green's mouthpiece and shook him with short, devastating punches to the head and roadhouse punches to the body. But Green would not go down and several times fought back with flurries as Tyson left himself open. While there were moments of excitement, the fight before a crowd of 6,529 was marked by a lot of clinching and, in the late rounds, there were choruses of boos. Tyson never had Green in danger except once in the early rounds when he doubled Green up with two right hands to the body. In the third, a left hook knocked Green's mouthpiece out of the ring and then in the fourth another left hook by Tyson not only knocked out Green's mouthpiece but also knocked out a section of bridge work Green was wearing and sent in flying several feet to the ring apron."

Those guys didnt stand in front of Tyson and slug it out like Ruddock did, they also wouldn't have the physical body to take such punishment of the stronger Ruddock . The fight was also personal ,both guys wanted to end each other ,thats probably the most Tyson ever wanted to end a fight since Spinks ,but the huge Ruddock was durable enough to last 7 and 12 in a rematch . I think 80's Tyson k.os him in 5,you also hzve to look at punch counts and experience at the time why Tyson may have not got a k.o , Tyson is also known for carrying a few fighters or purposely getting rnds in when he was k.oing everyone to quickly to gain experiance /knowing how long he could go to boost confidence ..

No one has also mentioned glove size, Marcianos wore very little padded gloves that do more damage to the face making it easier to inflict cuts and bruising .

You brought up Tyson though. I said Marciano was a damaging puncher.
I didn't disagree with your contrast between Tyson and Marciano, in fact I agree. We can contrast Marciano with Chris Byrd too, if you like.
I stand by my follow-up comment: Tyson was more accurate, Marciano more damaging.
I don't disagree with your ana1ysis but it doesn't cancel out the truth of my statements.

    Regarding Tyson-Tucker:
Tucker must have taken a lot of punches from Tyson, because I thought he landed a fair share of his own, and Tyson easily outpointed him.

As stated re read what i posted ,you seem to not have read anything . Green punched from a distance ,moving in and out ,he didnt have the physical strength to do anything to Tyson when in close ,this is not slugging it out . Tyson threw a very low punch count against Tillis who stuck and moved while clinching ,this also is not slugging it out .

I believe that fight was more of a clinch fest, i think Tucker was close to being points taken away ,its much harder getting a k.o fighting in spurts . Tucker had a chin , it would have been difficult for any 5' 10 guy k.oing a a solid 6'5 guy with 2 years experience ,Tucker was no push over ,he would have beat Spinks and gave Holmes fits .

That is not a slugging fight at all ,if it was it would have been over in 2 rnds ,no one would agree that Tillis SLUGGED it out with Tyson . lol
Ruddock is the only boxer ever to stand in place and do that.

I'll say it again, Tillis slugged it out with Tyson on many occasions in their bout. Go watch the fight again and come back at me, in fact Tyson is lucky it was a 10 rounder.....

You can say it all you like ,you will just be advertising false info and lack of comprehension what slugging is.

Yeah, but i thought the question was about prolonged beatings rather than KOs. Tyson hit Tucker plenty of times and the fight went 12 rounds, that's what matters. That should be a prolonged beating.
I guess some might argue that Tucker should have been "more damaged" from Tyson's punches landed.

Not really ,Tyson didnt land many power shots ,as stated when action is broken up by excessive clinchin the fight drags thus action halts .
