Which current overseas belt holder is most recognised in Britan

    Years ago Ali, Frazier, Leonard, Hagler, Tyson, Holyfield would need no introduction.

    However would Oscar be recognised if he was in the crowd at a football match?

    He retired today, therefore which current champ? - Pacman? Valuev?

    I'd go with Pac everyone knows he's fighting our Ricky for the Pound for Pound belt of the whole wide world.

    I've had people who have never even mentioned boxing coming up to me at work asking if the little asian Ricky's fighting is any good.

    Chris Eubank, Frank Bruno, Barry McGuigan, Naz Hamed are still probably more well known than the Lennox Lewis's, Calzaghe's and Hattons outside of boxing in the UK.

    Most people outside of boxing fans in the UK won't know any of the heavyweights now.

    I guess a very high percentage would know ALi and George Foreman.

    In terms of casual boxing fans, most know the Klitschko's, Hatton, Mayweather etc.

    all those greats were available on regular television in the sports golden age

    anyone who knows ricky hatton will know floyd jnr and after may 2nd pacquiao

    how can we expect the casuals to know the overseas champs when they've never even heard of david haye

    quiet simple really its all done to coverage
