I'm not trollin, but Silva is getting on a bit. Is punch resistance gonna become an issue with him? :think (I know he's your guy Spider, but you know what I mean.:thumbsup)

Probably will, time waits for no man. MMA’s such an unpredictable combat sport cos of the multitude of weapons deployed, it's only a matter of time for Silva and I reckon it'll be sooner than later. I can see a guy like Silva fighting long after he should’ve called it a day. The inevitable repeated losses to “lesser” fighters for good paydays once he’s totally shot….MMA’s first RJJ? :-(

I probably shouldn’t be voting as I'm not too familiar with all the contenders and prospects but I reckon you've got more chance to build up a legacy in the lighter weights, so I've gone for Demetrius Johnson, he looked elusive, technical and very well conditioned, I haven’t seen enough of Renan Barao.

I agree with Johnstown, Jones has got flaws. His striking although it works for him now, is very limited, he could get “found out” against the right kind of experienced fighter, but if the division ain't got depth maybe he won't....

JDS picked up on a flaw in Cains stand up after 2 punches and that was that was that Cain answered with a jab everytime JDS went low and then as we all know he delivered the overhand and it was nite nite for Cain

    Me, mo' fugga :tong

Bold, bold words my friend, after JDS punched Brown Pride out in 64 seconds.. We shall see then!

Anderson Silva rolls with those punches, but is getting touched more and more often. A stud grappler like Weidman could have him, and is intelligent enough to change levels when necessary FTW.

Listen to this man, I'm not sure if punch resistance will be so much of a problem as losing your timing will be.

I highly doubt he can run through the next 3 or 4 Contenders, that's asking too much... These super fights are where it's at.

Demetrius Johnson is a sweet fighter imo, and I believe he will hold the title that once belonged to Dominick Cruz.

Bump ahead of this weekend's title fight.

Since the poll was created, Aldo, Barao and Johnson have successfully defended while JDS has lost his belt.

Won't take Rousey into consideration since she had her first title fight after the poll was created, but as it stands she seems a good shout to outlast the others.

Anyone care to revise their predictions in the wake of last-fight performances or scheduled matchups? :good

Slightly shocked that Silva isn't ahead of Jones. Anderson could win the remaining fights of his career which likely aren't many. He could easily retire without being defeated. Wouldn't this make him an automatic winner of the poll? All the other guys have a lot of years left; I figure they'll likely lose at least once at some point. Also, if Dana lets Cormier have a shot at Jones at LHW, that is a very dangerous fight for Bones. I can see him losing to Cormier if not Gustafsson.

    No.

If Anderson retires as champion while Jones (for example) still holds the LHW belt, then Jones wins because Anderson is no longer champion while Jones' reign continues. :good

Benson was given the belt and he's holding it for Pettis. Mighty Mouse is holding mora gas belt. Pettis is taking Aldo's in aug. gsp will hold until he retires. Weidman will take silvas belt and Gus is taking jones belt. Anything can happen in a heavyweight fight. That leaves barao. Noone is gonna challenge barao except maybe macdonald in 3 fights.

You should change the title of your thread to: I'm a Jon Jones fan. Who else agrees that he is unbeatable and is the GOAT?

Or just eliminate Silva from the list since you aren't giving him proper credit. Even if he retires after winning just one more fight, his undefeated streak in the UFC is an amazing feat that should definitely be recognized. But this is your game. I'll play momentarily. Silva aside, I change my pick to GSP.
