Thread was made in mid-Dec last year.

    Since then:

Junior has fought and lost his belt.

    Jones has not fought.

    Silva has not fought.

    GSP has defended against Diaz.

    Bendo has defended against Melendez.

    Aldo has defended against Edgar.

    Barao has defended against McDonald.

    Johnson has defended against Dodson.

So five champions have successfully defended. Two have not fought, and one has lost. :smoke

I'd say the mma's first RJJ was Chuck Liddel, or Tito.

Anderson Silva is the only man in the Sport comparible to RJ.

Hands down, showboating, taking your best shot and ending it when he chooses. Head and shoulders above the competition.

Fedor's career played out much like Joe Louis'.

    Why so butthurt? :blood

You make up a lot of **** in your head that I never wrote. :good

The opening post asked "From today and counting forward, who will hold on to his title for longest?"

    Nothing else.

Sure, I like Jones and think he is well poised to make a serious run at the mythical title of GOAT. Is he there yet? Don't be ****ing ridiculous. Is he invincible? Don't be ****ing ridiculous.

And I like Silva too. I love watching him fight and he is clearly the UFC's GOAT. GSP is the only challenger and that is only because of the higher quality of opposition. Where do you think I disrespected Anderson? :huh

But Anderson is winding down his career. If he retires this year still holding the belt, then he won't "hold on to his title for the longest" from the time the thread was made, will he? :blood

If the question was "Which current UFC Champion will end up with the longest career title reign?" then yeah, it's Anderson by a landslide. Obviously. But that's not the question, is it. :deal
