I'm trying to understand what the hell did he expect Cotto to do, when clearly the man was spent. The fight was not even slightly competitive at the point of the quitting, it was a one sided beat-down that would no doubt lead to a brutal KO.
But he quit when it got tough. But the question of Margo's gloves also come into play. So I've let up a lot on the criticism of him. He fought his heart out but I think he had some left but he turned it in. But if Margo's gloves were loaded. Then Im sorry. Any fighter getting beat up makes the right choice for their health. I guess Im really just in the air on if Margo had his gloves loaded or not. That's the risk of boxing. Again, Im tossed on whether Margo's gloves were loaded. Cotto did quit. For his health. But I don't think he was in any more danger than any other fighter going the distance in such a fight. If margo's glove were loaded. Im sorry cotto for hating on you. If they weren't, Im sorry but, watching you head hunt when you should be going to the body, and then quit, how can I feel sorry for you? You had many opportunitys to land to Margo's body freely and opted to head hunt.
Because if Cotto would have been fighting correctly and not fighting stupid, he would have easily have won. Cotto lost the fight, Margo didn't win it. IMO.
You said earlier that you criticized his heart, and now you say you're criticizing the way he fought. Which one is it then? I totally agree that he should have fought a very different fight and it's mainly his fault that he lost (apart from the gloves, if they were loaded), but that wasn't the issue we were discussing at all. If you think he fought a bad fight, then criticize him for that, not for his heart. He was spent when he quit.
Agreed. But that's no reason to question his heart. PS: You get an instant msg when someone posts in this thread or something?
Just the timing. I was meant to outside for most of today but I jacked up my hand. I need stiches but that means driving 45 minutes. So I was inside for quite a bit. I question his heart only cause he fought stupid thinking he could head hunt him all night then quit when he wasn't getting it done. Also, even he felt had to redeem himself for quiting against Margo. That's why his comments after the Clottey fight keep me feeling that way. I don't hold it against him too much anymore but I still slightly do. We'll see. He's a very good fighter. Lacky defense, but we shall see. :good
Stiches! What the hell did you do? Take care of the hand. I agree with certain points you make here. But it's an issue that deserves a thread of its own, I think we've already covered many aspects of it, anyway. :good
I live in a small town and needed to split these huge rounds of wood we have. Because using propane is too much money and we burn wood in a black stove. Anyway, I need gloves and I walked over the rounds over wood and fell. Caught myself but where I caught myself was bad. My hand got cut up pretty good. The way the cut is fine. The way is cut is shaped in a good way so i should heal up good. As for Cotto. :good
