Out of every decade the heavyweight division has been around which one do you think had the strongest competition and the most amount of high quality fighters?

    The 90s imo.
I think the fighters of that era were in general better than the fighters of the 70s. But the 70s were the overall better era because most of the big fights happened, and happened around the right time, when both guys were in or close to their primes

I will go with 90s. Seemed to have the total package mix of great athletes/fighters, great matchups, and most bona fide stars.

Also I find a lot of the 15 round fights at HW to be a bit on the boring side. Too much feeling out. The 12 round guys went right in at each other, and were usually looking for KOs not decision

70's closely followed by the 90's. But after that comes a big gap.

I think 90's are better considering Cooper almost made a HUGE upset after the most HUGE upset in boxing happen. Foreman's comeback was nice. But I love 70's HW division considering Ali frazier rivalry happened there, the foreman upset & holmes norton happened there too

70s starts great but sputters out very fast. 90s had a rough start, a weird middle, but picks up with young talent and the Lewis comeback. Both decades we're still very exciting.

I would consider the 60s as a strong consistent decade. Worth noting most of the early 70s Golden Age is built around declining fighters that might have peaked in the 60s such as Ali and Frazier.

    Prime Ali
    Prime Frazier
    Terrell
    Bonavena
    Liston
    Patterson
    Ingo
    Quarry
    Chuvalo....etc

The strongest heavyweight era is the later half of the 1900s early half of the 1910s

Half a dozen and two threes, really. Take your pick which one you like. I go with the 70s coz twenty years later they've still got two in there  I actually think the 80s has an argument for having more depth than the 90s, and the 60s has an argument for having more depth than the 70s, but I won't go into it, because that's just me being a hipster twat.

The 70s, but the 90s were terrific!!!

I actually have trouble rating the 90s second to any, but prime Holmes, Foreman, Norton, Frazier, Lyle, Shavers, Young...hard to beat.

When it comes to the 90s, I only wish Bowe had cared more and Tyson hadn't diminished after prison.

Both good eras, for me I believe its more of a coming of age, so in the 70s I was a callow youth of 17 onwards, finding my way in life, jobs, girlfriends, mohair suits, reggae, ford Cortina 2000E, Thursday night at the Royale, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Tamla, Evel Kneviel, all the above and more, so that's why maybe the 70s fighters are my pick, they take me back..... keep well.

probably right after Lewis retired the division became serious. Eventually you had a higher level of fighting..thats when the Heavyweight Championship became something worth owning. You had Wlad redefining what fighting was. His bro Vitali. Great contenders like Chris Big Naturals Arreola, James Toney , Evander Holyfield was at his peak then too.
2000s can't get argued against. Also they were.big, large, heavy. we had it all then.

Its certainly between the 70s and 90s

For me, the 90s edges it. Superb era of HW's.
