if marquez goes down to 135 or even if they have a catch weight of lets say,137,who would win between him and valero, also maybe this is not new,i just wanted to know!
I dunno. I'd have to say that I rank Khan above Valero, personally, but I would be interested to see either match-up. Nonetheless, JMM takes it with ease.
Marquez would probably run into some trouble early, but would adjust, get his timing down, and pick off Valero. Too many holes in Valero's game to beat JMM imo - so long as he's still in the form he was when he beat Casamayor and Diaz.
demarco has a much better chin than khan,i think if valero hits khan with any of those left bombs he hit demarco with, its lights out, marquez hits khan ,the same..sorry i just dont see or cant see or maybe even dont wanna see,but khan its overrated,i remember when he was a star in brit, even with a rebook endorsment, now he uses the racial thing and says thats why he came to u.s.
Listen, Im one of the biggest JMM fans in here but his weight gain coupled with his age wont help him out in this fight. Valero is raw but not as raw as Pacquiao was. How can you counter a fighter who keeps on throwing? Maybe JMM in his prime who threw sick combinations from a mile away but at this point it would be a very dangerous fight for him.
dang people, Marquez its getting about 67% of the votes,i kinda thought he would, but not by this much,i think ,after much thought, that if the fight happens,i really dont care.......one more thing, who cares about valero vs Guillermo Rigondeaux,(this is in response to somebody's thread)by the time he becomes a star, valero its going to weight as much as 150,Guillermo its only 120..no way!!
Yeah, I'll tell you what, hewito. I saw Valero's fight from last night with Demarco and based only on what I'd seen before last night's fight, I would have said Marquez should be a heavy favorite. Because up till that point I had seen not particularly impressive footage of Valero. I could only tell that he could hit and we knew that but I couldn't see the skills, the deceptive quickness or the durability in the little scraps of lousy footage I'd seen of him before. Now that I see he's actually a good fighter technically and so full of heart, I'd lean towards Valero. Because Marquez is really not even a natural lightweight and I saw him noticeably slowing down in his two championship lightweight fights, Casamayor for the linear title and Diaz for a couple ABCs. Valero might be peaking while Marquez would have to be coming down from a weight he simply never should have been at and he's got so many more miles on him. The best fight for Marquez right now is actually taken. Urango at 140 for the IBF belt. He'd box Urango's ears off and take a title in a fourth weight class. But Devon will get Urango's belt first. Marquez is only left with difficult fights. The good guys at 135 and 140 are almost all guys I'd favor over him at this point, in the twilight of his career. Alexander, Bradley, Khan, Valero are the belt holding names he'll have to contend with. Opportunism has never been Marquez's strong suit if you look at the course of his career.
i like valero in this match-up marquez had problems with juan diaz early in their fight, i don't think he will be able to handle valero's dynamic style
