Welterweight easily. Top 4 at welterweight Keith Thurman - Beat both Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia, who are both proven fighters. Errol Spence - Beat Kell Brook, who is a talented fighter, but may have also been damaged goods after the GGG fight. Terrance Crawford - Beat both Postol and Gamboa (inactive). Danny Garcia - Beat both Amir Khan and Matthysse. The competition at welterweight is light years ahead of cruiserweight. Cruiserweight is a mediocre division that every once in a while produces elite talent like Holyfield, Haye, Cunningham, Usyk. But, for the most part it's a dumping ground for shot light heavyweights that can't compete any more or guys that can't cut it with the best in the heavyweight division. Top 4 at cruiserweight Usyk - No elite wins yet, but as predicted he for the most part easily cleaned out a weak division and would most likely be a top 5 fighter at heavyweight just like Crawford easily cleaned at 140, which also is a weak division, but is now in the top 5 at welterweight. Gassiev - Best win was an old and past prime Lebdev. He barely won and almost let the fight slip away. Briedis - Best win was a shot Marco Huck. Huck was an excellent fighter about 5 years ago, but after back to back wars he's a shell of a fighter. Dorticos - Best win Edison Miranda, who couldn't cut it at light heavyweight anymore, but was Dortico's toughest fight before the Gassiev fight, which says a lot about the cruiserweight division. Besides Usyk none of the top 4 are elite talents.
Hard to call right now. we shall see. right now uysk has cleared out the division and spence or thurman havent come close.
I would say Welterweight is slightly deeper, but what makes the Cruiserweight division better is that all the top fighters are not shying away from fighting each other. Welterweights are in their own little world at the moment and they aren't fighting each other.
