Which "Draw" Is The Most Wrong.

I confess, I've never seen Chavez vs Whitaker. Divac felt Chavez deserved a draw?

 

I had Lewis winning 118-110. That's my choice.

I had Whitaker winning 116-112. It's been a long time since I watched Nelson-Fenech 1. I think I had it 117-111 for Fenech.

 

Fenech Nelson and Lewis Holyfield were equally as bad I remember scoring it for Lewis 117-111, As for Fenech -Nelson i dont remember my scorecard but I do know it was a worse call than Chavez Whittaker which i scored 116-113 Whittaker.

 

If Anarci scored the fight close for Whitaker that tells me all I need too know.

Whitaker/Chavez was most likely 12-0.

 

So i scored Barrera Morales I 115-113 and i layed a couple hundred bucks in Vegas on him, does that mean Morales shut him out:huh

 

I was kidding mate. lol. I'll have to get my DVD out soon and watch it myself, it might be painful for me because I like Chavez.

I'd be quite happy going 12 rounds with her.... regardless of the final verdict.

 

He outboxed him he didnt beat him up, so its not so painful in that sense. Ive seen worse robberies so dont let the Sweet Pea nuthuggers corrupt your thinking.
Also watch it with the sound off and youll see the scoring isnt as wide as everyone says.

 

I never had a problem with either Lewis/HolyfieldI or Nelson/FenechI, so obviously I am going for Chavez/Whitaker.

Whitaker won the fight, but the draw was given as it seemed important in a boxing sense that Chavez kept his '0'. Hindsight showed that did not work, as even the casual fan, did not buy it.

The draw did Whitaker more good than harm, as people felt sorry for a man who it was hard to like as a person, it got Whitaker noticed, as he became more than the brilliant but awfully boring boxer, to the bloke who got screwed by DKP.

 

They are all equally poor decisions, but I vote for Lewis Holyfield on the basis that I actually saw that fight live without prior knowledge of the decision.

I thought Lewis won flat out. I couldn't find 5 rounds that could have went to Holyfield. Even after watching it a few times.

 

I agree with this^^^ But not the first sentence which i deleted. Besides that i agree with you about Whittakers popularity stock rising, most fans back then were not whittaker fans lot of people thought he was boring and smug. Its funny how popular he is now Especially by a lot of people who didnt watch him fight until well after he retired.
