MP obviously, they were actually in negotiations & he walked away in a fight to determine boxings no1 p4p & best of the generation & possibly the richest fight in history.... completely shameful, yet some still support this guy because he is a very good & exciting fighter with an innocent smile, bull****. He relied on FMs reputation & the fact that most fans dislike FM in hope the people would turn on FM.... thankfully most have seen thru this bull**** & are blaming MP.... me ?... Im still blaming both because neither should have let this fight slip, end of.
anyone can talk the talk but if you cant walk the walk which floyd cant then you will be humiliated. yes they would have boasted his legacy, is floyd not worth fighting for anyone else now? he has no belts? by your logic anyone who beats floyd boat your economics or legacy because he has no belts? see how i made your point invalid? your logic makes no sense, these were tough welter and light welter that floyd ducked and instead cherry picked fighters his biggest claim to fame is beating an old way above his prime oscar, a light welter in hatton and a light weight in marquez
honorably mentions - jones and mayweather ducking their capable legacys has to be up there, so does hopkins demanding double the last minute against calzaghe. bowe was bad but i do have to say pac ducking the blood test (not mayweather) for 40 mil has to be the worse duck of all time
This is the biggest duck of the modern era. Signing a contract, talking trash endlessly, then pulling out repeatedly. Pathetic joke.
Bowe. Though I don't think for one minute that Riddick was scared of Lennox. His manager felt that losing was the worst thing in the world, and was determined to avoid it at all costs. He was also hellbent on not making the fight until it was ****ing huge - but there it was, as big as it could be! The only real option either of them had (other than each other) was Holyfield, or a selection of easier, less glam fights. It was massive, two guys in the same weight class, same age (roughly), didn't particularly like each other, Gold and Silver at the 1988 Olympics, good style blend..... make the fight! All Newman did was make his man look like a fraud. There was a potential rematch (then 3rd fight) between the pair, a fight with Holyfield, others with Ruddock, Bruno, McCall and further down the line Tyson.
I don't think Pacquiao ducked Floyd, really. It was more a matter of not wanting to be adequately drug tested, I believe. I'll let people draw their own conclusions as to why that may be the case.
Lets see the #1 p4p fighter not wanting to fight the previous #1 p4p fighter after he dominated the guy that has arguably beat him 2 times. Also throwing away $40 million and settling for $10 at the most just to not take a blood test. HMMMMMM i wonder....
atsch Yes, getting hurt in training, and throwing your WBC belt and refusing to fight someone is on the same level.
