I'm not overly critical of Dempsey not fighting Wills. Maybe at first, but later on in his reign, he did sign to fight Wills. Not his fault Rickard cancelled it. As it as though, Dempsey's resume for a guy considered an ATG is fairly lacking. Wills fought Langford, what, 20 times?
bowe by far. 1) HBO had set up a final 4 tourney, so he knew they would have a possibility of fighting 2) he had no real reason to not fight Lewis....i hate the word "duck" but this by far was an obvious one....
Because calling out doesn't really mean ****. Actually, I don't think Floyd ducked Mosley or Tszyu, hell he's about to fight one of them, but what is it with press conference boxing fans and their fascination with "calling out" opponents? Boxing matches worth millions of dollars are made at the negotiating table with lawyers and contracts, not in an interview with a camera and microphone.
They were both pretty bad ducks, but Riddick Bowe didn't turn down 40 million dollars over random blood testing.
