Wasn't Dempsey supposed to have Indian blood?

In answer to the original question, I'd guess that African Americans have had more world champions (partly) because they've dominated since the Alphabet Boys have made more world titles avaliable to win.

Black people have pretty much dominated boxing from the beginning of time.

As the great Detective Frank Drebin of Police Squad once said "All I know is never bet on the white guy"

To lump all Africian Americans together is incorrect, ethnically they could be from Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda etc or more properly from their original tribes. The Irish and Mexicans might be the winners...?

Why split Africans into tribes but still give the Mexicans and Irish whole countries? I think most of the African Americans came from West Africa?

The Irish are an indiginious race same as the Karagwe, Maasai, Swahili etc. Terms like Africa, Kenya, West Africa mean nothing as far as race goes-they are imposed artifical borders from the colonial days.
The English would be well up there also.

The Irish are not indiginous to Ireland......."Irish" is not a race.

How do you reckon that? I'M Irish and can trace my ancestry for hundreds of years in a celtic irish linage. Where do you think the Irish race are from?

A race is "a group of persons related by common decent".

My names O'Connor and I'm of Irish heritage, but "Irish" isn't a race, its a nationality.
