Stevenson vs Zepeda Odd that I find myself excited for a Shakur fight, but this matchup will answer many questions I've had about him.
He stops Perez, levels. He takes his offense away with sugar footwork, beats rope arms to the punch, outjabs, outslicks, demoralizes Perez. Zayas is elite and the world will know
For what it's worth, I picked Perez to pull the upset on Conwell, not because I thought Conwell was overrated, because I'd seen Perez several times beforehand and knew what a relentless beast he is. The fact that Conwell himself is pretty ****ing slick, and Perez simply had the wherewithal and know how to negate all of that slickness for every second of the fight, should at the very least give you pause. You thought Frank Sanchez and Conwell possessed those "levels" the same way you think Zayas does. Neither of them did, and Zayas doesn't either, he will be violently exposed the moment he gets in the ring with someone who knows how to cut off the ring. Well, Perez does, very very well.
Xander is levels above Sanchez and knows how to fight on the inside. Sanchez struggled against Carlos Negron, he was never world level and it was just wishful thinking Im watching that Kudratillo fight, the counter punching, jabbing and lateral movement will be Xanders key here. Full credit if you prove me wrong but he's not losing and once Perez gets taxed Ortiz is next. This is the underdog story, Zayas skill goes unnoticed but not for long. This content is protected
I have a bad feeling that this is going to be wishful thinking as well, Zayas has never impressed me even slightly in any of his wins. Sure, Kudratillo gave him issues, while losing by near shut out, but that was mainly due to how effortlessly he can shift stances. Something which Zayas is not blessed with, he's an up and down orthodox fighter, just like Conwell. But we'll see, I've never thought Garcia Perez was a world beater, he'll probably lose before reaching the top levels of this division. So it wouldn't shock me if he lost, but... I still think he has enough to beat Zayas.
I'm looking forward to Shakur-Zepeda, because I've been saying for years that Zepeda had the style to beat him, well... moment of truth.
Usyk-Dubois II. But I'll be at a family party and miss it. I'll have to catch up on what happened Sunday morning.
Antonio Vargas vs Daigo Higa for me. The winner will fight against Seiya Tsutsumi and we will have possibly a third fight between Daigo Higa and Seiya Tsutsumi.
