Arguably he did it the easy way?

I think he beat some bloke Nascimento to get the Sturm fight.

He beat some bloke Navarro (who Chudinov ko'd in 2) to get the Martinez fight?

 

Honestly DimI Chudinov and Quinlan make easy work of Bursak and that is his best win. If it isn't Bursak than who is?

Quinlan is huge, tough and can punch
Geale won't be the only world champion he ko's.

Has Murray beaten any bloke with a win as quality as Geale

It sounds like I am being a Murray hater I must admit that but I don't mind Murray and think he's quality himself but his best win isn't very good which was my point.

CEJ doesn't have a good resume by any stretch but he's young and Murray gets a lot of respect in comparison and he hasn't actually beaten anyone very good. I know he should have beaten Martinez but even he got slaughtered by Cotto in his next fight. Cotto also slaughtered Geale and that's why Quinlan got no credit beating him!

I thought Sturm beat him clearly and he was lucky to get a draw

#When GGG was a contender he fought for vacant titles so he never had to fight a champion and take a smaller purse, he has never taken less than 50% of the total purse as far as I am aware but you could prove me wrong? Remember GGG was a stand out amateur so when he turned pro he was picked up by large financial backers and got paid well from the get go

 

I didn't want to out you as a mug with your previous comments about CEJ, but you have really excelled yourself here.

CEJ doesnt even get close to Murray's achievements. 11 rounds on his feet against GGG. Robberies away over Sturm and Martinez. You are either too young to remember Murray or a massive CEJ fan boy. Either way Murray deserves some respect. CEJ v BJS was a draw at worst, I had it 7-5 BJS.

I am a fan of CEJ probably one of the biggest on this forum tbh but I find it hilarious when people big up the likes of Murray and talk about his fantastic career and at the same time say Jr hasn't beaten anyone and he's a bum!

Its simply delusional especially since Jr is just entering his prime and Murray is in the twilight of his career and Jr still has the best wins out of both of them!

TBH I don't disagree to date Murray has had the better career as he has been involved in the bigger fights, but if we just judge him by actual wins its not that impressive and probably worse than CEJ's.

I don't really want to talk down Murray's career as he is a warrior but why do you clowns cry about everything CEJ related and act like he's British level at best?

 

(admittedly from Wiki not the top of my head). Murray beat Nascimento for WBA intercontinental, then defended it against Carvalho and Blackwell which is what he needed to do to get the Sturm fight. The same as how what Eubank Jr needed to do next to get the WBO/BJS rematch was to fight Tommy Langford. He decided not to do that. Yes you could argue that's the 'easy' route to a world title, but it's what needed to be done.

Murray doing it the hard way is more like fighting champions on their terms (regardless of how he got the fight). Sturm in Germany. Martinez in Argentina. Abraham in Germany. Golovkin in Monaco.

Eubank Jr doesn't seem to want to either fight ranked boxers to build up his position, or accept the champions' terms that will be unfavourable to him as a non-mandatory challenger.

Instead they've created their own route which is IBO / ITV and using the Eubank name. I am quite looking forward to how they get on and what the next steps are. It's all bonkers but it should be interesting as long as they don't find more Renold Quinlans. I imagine they will be able to jump the queue and lure a 'real' champion in, but it will be more because of the money they are able to find than anything else.
