Which fight did Mike Tyson get punished and take the biggest beating?

Against James Buster Douglas he took a long and sustained beating throughout despite scoring a knockdown in round 8 it was not enough to beat Douglas he took some heavy damage but fought on valliantly.

How about the first Evander Holyfield bout he got beat up and stopped but didn't look as hurt as he did against Douglas but there was no doubt Holyfield was in command of that fight the whole time.

The Lennox Lewis fight? Lewis liked the outside work in this one and slowly picked away at Tyson and then clincially finished him later on despite the cuts it didn't seem as severve a beating as previously a forementioned fights?

Against Danny Williams? the referee seemed to allow Tyson to take a alot of punishment in this fight and Williams kept punching Tyson as he lay into the ropes.

Well in my mind, mate, the first loss he ever suffered, whilst still at the top of his game, is the answer.
Buster put on an absolute masterclass in out boxing Tyson.
He was almost perfect that day in Tokyo.

Yes I'm inclined to agree with you there Fergy. Douglas absolutely runied him in that fight and Tyson's face really revealed the damage. The Williams fight seems like it really beat him down too but in a different way he took some bangers in that one.

Buster Douglas was really the only fight where he took severe, severe punishment. Honestly that was a fight that took years off his gas tank and his prime. Lennox and Evander didn't beat him up that bad, Danny W really didn't beat him up at all.

Took most punishment ? I rate it like this.

    1. Douglas
    2. Lewis
    3. Holyfield 1
    4. Ruddock 2
    5. Williams

I recall feeling Tyson taking quite a beating vs Lewis.

During the in ring post fight interview I think I recall him thanking Lewis for the pay day. Either way I remember being under the impression he was mostly there to get paid, rather than to win/put in a good performance to further his career, and then recall thinking to myself "but tbf, he took his beating".

Perhaps it's because he was less in the Lewis fight than the Douglas and Holyfield fights and that clouds my view. I think its one thing taking a beating when you're competitive and/or also in with a shout of doing some damage yourself, it's another thing when you're taking a beating during what is so obviously a lost cause and you're having (in this case, beyond the 1st round) no success yourself.

Douglas did give Mike a bit of a beating before the KO

He wasn't really in the Douglas fight either. It was very one-sided. He was at least somewhat competitive in the first Holyfield fight, although it was clear Holyfield was controlling the fight and coming out on top.

That's one reason, I don't think Lennox brutalized him like Douglas did. Douglas was throwing kill shots the entire fight trying to put him away. Lennox it was more of a mugging, then a "let me put this guy to bed"

Despite being around the same age, Lewis had just a bit more in the tank tho I understand ppl saying that he should've stopped Mike sooner. He had a few rds against Holyfield at least but Douglas beat the kidneys outta him. Dont really remember the Williams fight but post Holyfield 2 I dont count beating Tyson as meaningful outside of name recognition. McBride fight wasn't a beating either I remember it being a sloppy affair.

Douglas beat him up badly and puffed up that eye. A sustained beating.
Holyfield's headbutts opened up some cuts.
Lennox bloodied him and dotted both eyes.
Danny Williams was lesser punishment but the injured knee was too much to handle.

    Dynamicpuncher has the right order.

Don't let Tyson fool you with his face, he took massive punishment against Norm Macdonald.

It would have been Holyfield-Tyson II

To the moon.. ringside outside, Tyson was about ready for a ringside seat.. Dempsey-Firpo, all over again
