which fight do you want to see more? gsp/diaz or jones/evans?

Aint many people id pick over Diaz in an elevator brawl

 

gsp diaz is almost as good as it gets.,,,

 

gsp vs diaz is the pacquiao vs floyd of mma.

 

Love GSP & JBJ but GSP/Diaz takes the cake and the knife. Will be interesting with GSP fighting a more up-tempo style in a most likely competitive fight. Bones will manhandle and dismantle Rashad it'll be a whoop ass.

 

Nah. I really want to see GSP-Diaz, but they are not the undisputed pound-for-pound number 1 and 2 in MMA the way that Pac and Floyd are in boxing. As much as I love Diaz as a fighter, he would be the only one of the four who would not be an ATG if he retired now. Pac, Floyd and GSP are already established ATGs, so it's a slightly different scenario. GSP vs Anderson Silva would be exactly like Pac vs Floyd if they fought now.

Im not particularly interested in seeing Jones fight anybody @205 , i think HW is the only way to keep his fights interesting from this point on

To that end , i suppose its St Pierre Diaz , well actually , im very pumped for this fight

 

Diaz v GSP is a competitive battle between the top 2 WWs in MMA, Jones v Evans will be a 1 sided wipeout... Evans is not that good IMO.

 

GSP is so good at what he does it hurts.. I think he would rather smother his opponents and ride out to a UD than attempt submission and joint locks on the ground. Getting TKO'd by Matt Serra will always be in the back of his mind, and I think him having his way with Diaz would only lead to another underwhelming 5 round performance.

Jones v Evans is a much more intriguing matchup in that these two men are quite familiar with each other. Nobody knows what really happened in those training sessions, or what will when they square off. There is enough animosity between the two to guarantee fireworks, and I doubt the two would stink up the joint the way GSP can.

 

Technically Evans vs Jones but for hype Diaz vs GSP.

I'm still not fully convinced that Diaz vs GSP will be anything except GSP pot shotting and then taking him down. The Diaz's don't have a strong base. They have good jits and an active guard but I haven't got to see it recently against elite wrestlers.

Diaz looked great against Cyborg, Noons, Daley, BJ and maybe even Condit but I think we all the the strong likeness these opponents have - they are strikers!

Fitch, Koscheck, GSP etc I'm not so sure.

This is the difference with boxing and MMA. In boxing, Diaz is protected and put in with someone like Matt Hughes so he has a chance to develop and so the promoter can test his wrestling ability and see whether he can risk him against a wrestler. In MMA, we find out in the cage immediately what your flaw is (win or lose) so you have the choice to go away and work on it. MMA is much more about the evolution of the fighter, hence the reason win streaks are so valued in MMA but in boxing a style is a style (minus the odd exception of guys like Khan/Pac etc who seem to want to develop).

 

Those are both great fights but the DIaz/GSP feud is red hot right now.

Im actually picking condit..But in saying that condit did get absolutely dominated by rory mcdonald not to long ago before turning the tide with 1.30 to go in the fight..
