i always watched it here and there but when i saw the Pavlik vs Zertuche fight i started watching all the time
I used to watch boxing casually at a young age but then I watched De La Hoya vs Chavez and I was hooked. I wanted nothing more but to see De La Hoya get his ass kicked for the longest time. Haha funny memories
Why? That **** was classic. It had the best and the worst of what boxing has to offer. Pure excitement either way! So many people were hooked on boxing, based on the two fights.
Lewis vs Tyson was the first fight I remember watching. After that I just casually watched the big fights from Britain. After Hatton vs Mayweather I really got into boxing hardcore and watch everything.
Tyson vs Douglas was the first fight I had watched in full. Jones Jr. vs Ruiz was the first fight I saw live.
i can remember being a kid and driving with my dad to the local cable provider to pick up the component/part, can't remember the technical term, but you needed it to watch pay per view and we did this every time there was a big fight. Out of all the fights i most remember JCC and Iron Mike!
the first prizefighter was the most excited and ive been watching every single fight on t.v since and have been too watch it live
The one that sticks in my mind is the beating that Duran put on Davey Moore. I had seen boxing before, but nothing like that fight - been a boxing fan ever since.
Watching with my grandfather BBC sportsnight they used to show a lot of amateur boxing and I always enjoyed watching Dick McTaggart the Scottish boxer who fought at the Olympics but never turned pro .. I remember Ken Buchanan beating local hero Maurice Cullen to take the Light Heavy weight championship and followed him since.Growing up in the 60s Ali was a hero of mine until Joe Frazier came around with with bobbin n weavin style, but the Cooper knock down of Cassius Clay was what got me hooked.
