I had Marquez winning 8-4 against Pacquiao. I had Bradley losing 8-4 to Pacquiao. I think Bradley vs Pacquiao was closer as i can see it being 7-5 but Marquez easily won by 4 rounds. Marquez was closer to winning 9-3 than 7-5.
a) Effective Aggression The key to the first category is the word "effective." One may be going forward, trying to get at ones opponent, forcing them back, This content is protected It should be noted that the opponent, who is "out-boxing" or keeping the fight at a distance, can be the "effective aggressor" by initiating the punching exchanges. b) Defense A badly over-looked aspect of boxing, especially in scoring a fight. Defense is a part of combat. In boxing it is the ability to hit the opponent without being hit in return. This content is protected c) Ring Generalship The person who dictates the tempo of the fight and controls the action in the ring is the ring general. The boxer who makes the other man fight his fight. This content is protected Or if fighter B effectively cuts off the ring and forces fighter A to the ropes where he can go to work he then is the better ring general. d) Clean and Hard Punching This should be obvious, but it's not. This content is protected Some blows are "partially blocked"; meaning it did not land with its full force. Such blows are not "clean" punches. Also it is not the amount of punches that are thrown the matters, but the amount of blows that land. Hard punching is important as the amount of damage a blow causes counts in the scoring. In the amateurs a knockdown is only as good as a jab, but in the pro's its worth much more. One hard right that staggers the opponent though is not worth ten hard jabs that snap back the opponent's head. Damaging blows and their value are difficult to assess and that is why boxing is subjective. However it should be noted that landing 3 or 4 punches that hurt an opponent in the last seconds of a round are not enough to make up for losing the first two and a half minutes of the round where he was out-boxed. That's some good company I keep. SJS19 and bball are two posters I admire greatly and are generally respected throughout the forums. Same can be said for Smokin' Joe, turbotime, Cinderalla Man, and FilipMNE. None of that can be said for you.
Did you not see Bradley missing, spent a lot of time not throwing. Pacquiao was the aggressor and landed the hurtful punches. Did you miss Pacquiao blocking slipping and catching the punches from Bradley. Pacquiao kept the fight in the centre of the ring, Pacquiao was the clear ring. general was was dictating the fight. Bradley landed some swinging sluging punches that lacked power, Pacquiao punches were clean and did damage.
Still didn't watch it did you? Oh sorry, you 'don't need to', you know what you saw. Well watch it and you'll see something else. A whole lot of Pacquiao rushing forward throwing wildly and being made to miss with Bradley's great head movement and slipping, and a whole lot of Bradley controlling the centre of the ring with his effective jab while Pacquiao increasingly took his foot off the gas. Pointed out those parts for a reason. :good
Bradley was consistently more active than Pac throughout the fight. Hurtful punches? Bradley was never even stunned. Bradley was doing the same thing, if not more. Bradley's footwork was dictating the fight. They fought when he wanted to..Otherwise, Pac would have landed a lot more. Pac couldn't cut off the circle to the left of Bradley and was ineffective all night. Again. What damage? Bradley was never hurt by Pac's punches. He wasn't cut or swollen at all.
More active doing what throwing jabs at the thin air:rofl If Bradley was not stunned why was he hold on? Bradley was hurt, he even said so himself in the post fight interview.:nono
