Out of these ATG's which would you say was their defining fight that made them an ATG? Sugar Ray Robinson Muhammad Ali Roberto Duran Sugar Ray Leonard Tommy Hearns Marvin Hagler Carlos Monzon Bernard Hopkins Roy Jones Jr Bob Foster Julio Cesar Chavez Sr Pernell Whitaker Lennox Lewis Mike Tyson Evander Hollyfield Manny Pacquiao Floyd Mayweather Jr
I think with Manny it might be when he sat Morales down and made him stay down. Saying that, that was more of a moment. Like "this guy is something!". Where you could argue that it was Manny's "Mexicutioner" run that cemented his status as an ATG.

Good list. I think I might put Cleveland Williams for Ali, not that it was a good opponent, but it was clear that Ali was a great fighter. Also, Holyfield was ATG after Bowe Ii or possibly Douglas considering the cruiser resume.
Sugar Ray Robinson - Joey Maxim Muhammad Ali - Joe Fraier III Roberto Duran - Sugar Ray Leonard I Sugar Ray Leonard - Roberto Duran II Tommy Hearns - Not an ATG Marvin Hagler - Not an ATG Carlos Monzon - Not an ATG Bernard Hopkins - I don't think it was a certain fight, I think it was his whole career along with the fact that he could stay around even at 50. Roy Jones Jr - Whole Career (He could end the fight with 1 punch) Bob Foster - Not an ATG Julio Cesar Chavez Sr - Whole Career Pernell Whitaker - Julio Cesar Chavez Sr Lennox Lewis - Vitali Klitschko Mike Tyson - Not an ATG Evander Hollyfield - Not an ATG Manny Pacquiao - Not an ATG Floyd Mayweather Jr - Not an ATG
I agree. Bowe 2 put him in a select club. Only Patterson and Ali before him had regained the real HW title. He actually proved a hell of a lot in Bowe 1 from where I was sitting.

Tommy Hearns was a natural Middleweight or Jr. Middle. He left 147 at like 22 years old. He just grew into his natural frame.
Foster, Hagler, Monzon, Holyfield, Tyson, Pacquiao not ATG but Lewis is and qualifies because he won on a cut in a fight he may well have lost if it went longer? GTFO
You honestly want to give credit to Pac, for beating a shot to bits Morales? What you should seriously consider is giving credit to a semi shot Erik for beating the prime Pacman in their first encounter.
I'm not saying Lewis isn't an ATG, I am just saying these other guys are too, and the Vitali fight wasn't Lewis's best performance or most significant victory.
ATG's are fighters in the Top 10 p4p all time. Everyone else is just exremely talented. Foster had a glass chin and didn't beat anyone great. Hagler I was mixed about, he had a basic style but had a great jab and the 2nd greatest chin in boxing history. He would be outpointed by alot of fighters and barely beat Duran. Monzon beat past prime Emile Griffith and waay past prime Jose Napoles. His resume was pretty weak and consisted of a bunch of nobodies. Holyfield got schooled by James Toney and was on HGH so he is immediately disqualified. Tyson got stopped too many times and didn't beat any great fighters in their prime. Pacquiao isn't on the list because I don't consider anyone from the last 15 years due to the amount of PED usage in the sport. GTFO
