Tyson started his decline from the first Frank Bruno fight. Not saying Bruno was ever going to beat him but up until then Tyson never got shaken by a punch.I know someone might diss me for saying it but thats the first fight i saw him have where he got shaken slightly. Tyson defense and power was just unbelievably good. But he deteriotated more from the Buster Douglas fight even though he still should`ve won it.Douglas was a bum.

he spent his prime 5 yrs in prison, so I think prison ruined him.
Just imagine if he was not in prison for abt 5 years and he fought in tht time.

Don king ruined tyson. He made him sack his trainer and then tyson stopped jabbing and moving his head and got KOd by douglas.

Michael Spinks landed a wicked body shot on Tyson that would've ruptured the spleen of any other man on Earth. Tyson withstood it and won the fight but I don't think he was same after that.

again if you can't see a difference between head hunting tyson of the 90's and onward who mixed in a little bob and weave and was content to hold and throw 1 shot at a time compared to the combination throwing bob and weave machine of the 1980's than something's wrong.

You make no good points to even refute. FYI: Danny Williams didn't beat ****. Do u realize that Tyson tore a knee ligament at around the 2:00 minute mark of round 1. Williams was a dead man walking up to that point and wouldn't have seen the third but for it.

And you're basically saying that tyson beat no good hw that didn't have a 'broken hand' or wasn't 'coked' up ...... ridiculous posts....

Tyson self destructed. He had a world class system and corner. Then he abandonded it. Then he went to Tokyo unprepared and fighting his own war in his head. He left without the belt he worked hard to win. Then jail. Then a quick return that put him against Holyfield who beat him twice. He got too comfortable living off of beating Tyson He was never the same fighter after Douglas. He just kept winning without training in the 90's and his prison comeback was against weak opposition. He depended on his fear. Holyfield and Lewis and Douglas were not afraid of him. Also when Cus died he went from a fast combo body and head fighter to a head hunter. The craft was gone. A punch and reputation only take you so far.

You can count the number of Heavyweights that beat a prime great Heavyweight on one hand.

Lennox Lewis deserves to get slammed for the same things that Tyson does. For never getting off the canvas to win and never beating a prime great but somehow he eludes the criticism.
