Whether it would be a boxing lesson/clinic or both fighters displaying tremendous boxing skills, which fight showed the best display of the "sweet science?"

Off the top of my head the only thing I can think so far is:

    Competitive pure boxing:
Mike McCallum vs James Toney (best and most entertaining pure boxing fight)

    Boxing lessons:
    Mayweather vs Corrales/Gatti
    Hopkins vs Pavlik/Trinidad
    Whitaker vs Ramirez II/McGirt/

    What else?

    Locche/Fuji
    Whitaker/Haugen
    Lora/Zaragoza
    Winstone/Guerrero
Kalambay/McCallum (both fights, the first as a one-sided clinic, the rematch as a two-way affair)

I thought Judah vs Spinks fights were some good displays of boxing skills.

The Wlad Klitschko, Ruslan Chagaev fight was absolute boxing domination of a very skilled boxer with a terrific amatuer boxing pedigree by a technical boxing genius. Hell, at times in that fight Chagaev smartly tried to go for Wlad's body but simply time after time could not hit him solidly to the body. Old timers always said if you can't hit the chin go to the body. The body can't hide but Wlad was so elusive in that fight that Chagaev could hit essentially nothing for minutes at a time. Even Whitaker got hit to the body but he would shut opponents down like Wlad did in the Chagaev fight.

edit: My mistake, I was thinking of the Ibragimov fight. Apologies.

Why not? Does the contrast in skin pigmentation blind you to the fact that they are both tremendous boxing technicians and are very hard to hit solidly?

Toney-McCallum 1 is a great display of boxing from both guys, and a very competitive bout.

    Some great schoolings:

Hagler against Sibson and Hamsho 1. Masterful use from Hagler of the jab, sharp combinations, good movement and footwork.

    Hopkins against Trinidad and Pavlik.

    Mayweather against Corrales.

    McGirt against Brown.
