Revisionist history. Some people are ****ing pathetic. Hopkins was the underdog, big underdog, in both fights. "Anybody who actually knows boxing"... people were picking Hopkins to be beaten. Many picked Pavlik to "retire Hopkins". Nice try, though.

I voted for Trinidad, Tarver, and Pavlik. Three bonafide masterclasses.

It's kinda of crazy to look back on it and think B-hop was considered old against Trinidad! IMO I definitely could watch the Trinidad more times than the Pavlik fight though both were great performances of course. I enjoyed seeing him beat up Tarver as well. He was as aggressive against ODLH as in those fights till later on but that liver shot is priceless! LOL I still just can't believe he has the speed and reflex at 44 yrs.

I'm gonna pick the Pavlik victory, just to make booradley, hermit & pipe wrenched mad!

why are you guys saying Pavlik?

Hopkins didnt do anything special in that fight he just exposed Pavlik, by circling around him and avoiding his right.

The Tarver fight was the sweet science at its finest, countering Tarver every chance he got, the same with Tito.

The Pavlik win is arguably his best win of his career but certainly no masterpiece.

    Trinidad.

Trinidad was an established superstar and whilst not a legitimate 160lber, he had blown away Joppy.

Whilst the Pavlik fight was a good win Pavlik is still very green and B-Hop saw this. Plus the fight was made 10 pounds more than Pavlik has ever fought at and this negates Pavliks size and strength that he has at 160.

gotta be Pavlik, Pavlik was the most overrated fighter of the time, possibly of the decade, and to see him absolutely destroy this kid in extremely one-sided fight, in a fight most deemed he would get KTFO'd, it was beautiful, specially when you consider the age difference

it's probably the best exposing i've ever seen

Tarver. Hopkins was moving up in weight and coming off two losses against Taylor. Tarver had beaten Jones and Johnson. The way that Hopkins beat Tarver was brilliant.

If he was that overrated then it couldn't have been a very good win for Hop then?

I actually think Pavlik was Hopkin's best win, not because Pavlik was overrated. He had showed certain skills that were deemed an antidote to Hop's age; the fact he didn't look great against Calzaghe; stamina issues.

Most thought that on workrate alone Pavlik would win a decision.

What workrate? B-Hop nullified Pavlik's strengths, buzzed him on numerous occasions, toyed with him and won (if you ask me, not including the point deduction for Hop as he still won that round) EVERY round.

Pretty impressive for a man that supposedly spoiled because he couldn't keep it up for 12 rounds anymore.
