Which fight was best at protecting their weak chin?

Oh with out a doubt Tommy Morrison has to be the only choice,, Man was great but boy did he have a glass chin if the chin got touched he went down. But despite that fact went on to become a world champion.

 

You know I've always thought that but Vlad does get buzzed but even in his loses by TKO not KO he always got back up. Never knocked out cold, cold

 

I know these guys have been stopped before, and that people like to overplay it...but I wouldn’t call any of these guys weak chinned.

 

Roy Jones?

 

Pernell Whitaker. Whether or not his chin was weak, there were questions, possibly before and, certainly, after the Mayweather fight. Pendleton buckled his knees. If he did have a questionable chin, it was good enough to take one clean shot every four fights.

 

I wasn't entirely convinced by the strength of Virgil Hills chin, certainly in the early stages of his career but he ended up with a fairly outstanding career in terms of the numbers and title successes, if not in public recognition.

 

Wlad and Lennox are definitely near the top. Luckily they had massive size advantages over many of their opponents.

 

Roger Mayweather, Terry Norris and Kuniaki Shibata. All three of these fighters had suspect chins, but I loved how they actually took on big bangers with their impediment and achieved success. Every so often one would get through of course, but for the most part they kept it under wraps.

There were some mumblings that Pea's chin might have been a little tender (but not glass) after Uncle Roger decked him, but I think the Trinidad fight kind of dispels the idea of his chin being a weak point. Whitaker was a natural Lightweight facing a huge Welter with immense power at 147 and who wiped out guys at 154 and even did some damage at 160. Even with a broken jaw and his legs totally shot, Whitaker fought close to Trinidad, ate big shots and was still standing at the final bell without ever looking like he was going to be stopped, albeit there was that knockdown early on and Whitaker used all his experience and know-how to keep Trinidad at bay. But he didn't just turn up to survive by any means. I actually thought there was nothing in the fight after seven rounds (Pea in fact arguably a pinch in front without the knockdown), but Trinidad won everything after that point.
