I believe Leonard-Hearns 1 is not as good as it is made out to be.Duran-Leonard 1 might be the best pure slugfest I have ever seen.Duran-Leonard 1 for me.

But he was chinny as we know, and was in control before Leonard stopped him. Would you rate that win over Duran's over Leonard? Considering he was a past-prime lightweight stepping up to take on one of the best welterweights of all-time.

As for the question, if I had the choice to watch either fight, I would pick Duran-Leonard.

Nobody was saying Duran was past his prime going into the Leonard fight.

I don't think he was way past his prime at all, just slightly. I think his prime was probably the De Jesus fight a couple of years earlier.

I personally think Duran got under Leonard's skin in the pre-fight build-up which caused Leonard to stand and trade with Duran. He fought the wrong fight and that's why Leonard lost.

    Hearns/Leonard 1 is slightly overrated so its Duran/Leonard 1

Both were great fights, Im not sure that many of the people that talk about that fight now has ever seen it(Leonard v Duran). And those that did, seem to forget that it was a very disputed fight, it seems now that people seem to think that Duran was a clear winner and he wasnt, it was about like Delahoya vs Whitaker were about half the people thought the other guy won.

Yes Leonard would not have lost the first fight with Duran if he fought the way he did in the second.

That's what you would come to expect though. A lot of Boxing fans on ESB take their sport very seriously, so seriously in fact that if a fighter becomes as popular as Leonard, it's cool to dislike him. Likewise, Duran was the complete opposition, which just makes it easier for people to accept that he won the fight without disputing the decision. Leonard gets **** all over these forums, one of the greatest talents the sport has ever seen.

I'm not saying Duran didn't win the fight, I'm just saying everybody here loves the fact Duran beat Leonard.

I agree. The fight itself really lacked action and gets very overrated. It was a good fight but not the great fight alot of people make it out to be. The fight was pretty tamed after Hearns was hurt early and started to out box Ray and then picked up again the round where Ray stopped him but it was really a good knockout either.

That was more of a fast paced, uber skilled war than an all out slugfest. So much skill in that fight, especially on the part of Duran, whose performance may have been the best I've ever seen.

Definitely the better fight overall of the two, though perhaps not as dramatic all things considered.
