As good as Corrales/Castillo 1 was, I personally thought that Morales/Barrera 1 was better.

There was more solid inside fighting in the Corr/cas fight & the 10 rd ending was one of the finest in history but the skill factor mixed with the all round greatness (lots of inside & outside action) of EM/MAB makes this one better & arguably the best ever fight in any division IMO.

Morales v Barrera I beats Corrales v Castillo I for me anyway.....

I think Corralles bending the rules by sptitting out his mouth peice twice to avoid a TKO, and the ref stopping it a the moment Castillio was in trouble tarnishes a fantastic fight. Even though the action and drama was greater here, I perfer Morales vs Barrera 1 by a small margin because of the above reasons.

Hard one to call. I thought Barrera-Morales was better if we're only looking at the first 9 or so rounds, but Corrales-Castillo had the dramatic TKO ending that we all want, even if it was by cheating.

Barrera-Morales - better skilled fighters, better schooled and better athletes. Barrera beat the stuffing out of Morales too

    Top sentence, agree 100% :good

2nd sentence - In your dreams - anything Marco gave out, he took in return except for the last 30 secs of rd 12 + morales won 7 rds on the only card that counts to me - MINE.

    :thumbsup

Depends what you like. Barrera-Morales was conucted at a higher level, Corrales-Castillo had more thrills and heart. I lean towards Barrera-Morales, but that is not the case if the other fight is the one that i'm watching.

Barrera vs. Morales I was the superior fight on many levels.

It did not have the dramatic ending, but the combination of demonstrated skill sets with that kind of sustained intensity was incredible.

Barrera may of deserved the nod in the first fight, but Morales comfortably smoothed over the second fight, only to run into politics on the cards because Barrera was the money machine after beating Hamed.

The third fight was the closest, a draw would of been fair.

Doesn't the decision somewhat tarnish Barrera-Morales 1 though?

    Corrales-Castillo I is my all-time #1 fight, followed by Ali-Frazier III and Saad-M. Johnson I.

Biased or not, Morales vs Barrera I ranks alongside any fight in any weight class. Non stop action, but there was still a hell of a lot of skill on display by both fighters. I thought Barrera won the fight, but it wasn't clear cut enough to call the result a robbery. An unbelievable fight on so many levels.

    1. Morales Vs Barrera I
    2. Gatti vs Ward I
    3. Corrales vs Castillo I
    4. Frazier vs Ali 3
    5. Pryor vs Arguello I
