All things considered, it's not hard to see why anybody would come to that conclusion based on his career up until then.
Clenelo vs Rocky from Stocky Vanes was an elite amateur and Olympian (beat multiple world champions Austin Trout x 3 who was robbed against Jermallo, beat Timochenko Bradley including dropping him x 2, and Berto among many others), was robbed against WBC champ Jermello and WBA champ Lara in the pros, both of whom were rated as P4P greats by the GGG haters, dropped current WBO MW king and former LMW king Boo Boo on his buttocks and took him down to the wire, beat IBF champ Ishe Smith and it was the strongest, fittest, healthiest and hardest punching Vanes we've ever seen because he didn't have to struggle to get down to 154. Vanes weighed 170 and GGG was 173 IIRC. Whereas Rocky from Stocky was a weight drained cadaver due to the rehydration clause Clenela insisted on, didn't do squat as an amateur above domestic level, won gifts against John ''The Gorilla'' Ryder and Chistopher Rebrasse and has only ever beaten one world champion in his career who was a paper champ tomato can, not to mention that he was also sparked out by Liam Smith in a round who Vanes would beat the living **** out of, and Rocky said he was going to weigh about 178 in the ring, the pre hulked up on industrial amounts on Clenbuterol Clenelo weighed 174 about 5 years ago down at 154. You do the math. Vanes is Elite Level, Rocky is Scouse Level.
i wouldnt say "anybody", somebody, could. i think his career up to that point was a clear indicator of his progression and quality, its just that the ones who saw that, werent the loud and prolific posters on the forum, so the posters who wouldnt know either way, start to parrot the loudest most repetitive arguments, and a narrative takes hold.
I know but I thought it would help bolster my argument if I said it was one of the other brothers. In fact, I was going to go with Stephen Smith at first lol.
I couldn't believe it when he said that Fury easily beat Wilder. Fury really did win hearts and minds on his US tour.
