It's awlays interesting to get the feedback on this. Many state Mayweather was at his absolute peak for the Gatti fight and that's a good argument to put up. Mayweather looked fanatstic, his reflexes and hand speed were blinding. Some say Manny was at his peak at his only fight at 140 when he destroyed Hatton. So which fight do you feel Manny and Mayweather were at their absolute peak? I think Floyd's best performance may have well been Hatton. Ricky had tremendously underrated foot speed and he was able to close the distance early and with that, made Floyd very uncomfortable. Unfortunately for Hatton, he was up against an extremely versatile boxer whose defense was very difficult to penetrate. When Hatton tired, Mayweather got the distance he wanted and went to work. I think Pacquiao was a nightmare style for Hatton. He pretty much could negate Hatton's aggressive style because of his fast footwork and Hatton couldn't see the right coming which eventually set up that devasting left that put Hatton down and out. Manny's best performace to me was Cotto. He took some good shots from a solid welter, boxed well early and methodically broke Cotto down.
It's weird I think Floyd was better at 130 as PBF. But if they were the same size, I think Money Mayweather would beat PBF
pbf would have been to quick and sharp for money may, he would have attachecked like he used the to when he wanted to be champion, look at the emotion after wining the belts at featherweight anf lightweight, you have to say floys was at his prime at 126-130 when he was simply untouchable, i would say manny hit his prime from ODLH until cotto, if you look at the first 4 rounds vs cotto it was a close match until the knock downs
I agree but Gatti was beaten quicker years before by a prime Oscar. This was before the wars with Ward , so in my view, takes a lot off that win. Not hard for an elite fighter to look good againsed that version of Gatti.
PBF vs. Corrales PAC vs. ODLH (I know Oscar was a shell but Manny prepared for this fight like no other-THAT Pac beats Jesus Christ 9 out of 10 times)
Mayweather's is his entire time spent at 130, really. Obviously, his #1 would be: Mayweather vs. Corrales (although young buck Mayweather vs. Hernandez is also likely unstoppable) For Pacquiao, more difficult to decide: Pacquiao vs. Barrera the first go around, being that Barrera was ranked somewhere 2nd or maybe 4th Pacquiao vs. Cotto, I don't think it is outrageous to say 147 may be the toughest Pacquiao to beat
