Fighter has to be availabe of course and willing to fight.

Eubank Jr., Jacobs, BJS, Canelo didn't want.

Let's go up in weight. Ramirez is injured. DeGale? Jack? They want the GGG fight?

Let's go down. Lara? Did he send an offer? He wanted negotiations? Did he do the same that Brook did?

So, who was available, who ould be the better fight. 154-168?

Personally, I think GGG would have better served his own interests dragging up someone from 135.

The only fighters available for the Bum King are bums, tomato cans, midgets and prospects.

I thought he only fought these types of fights because he was forced to. Apparently he likes it though. If the odds aren't 60 to 1 in GiGi's favor then no fight.

They just might have bigger cajones than Quillen, Jacobs, Ward, Saunders, Chavez jr, Froch, Eubank, Cotto, Canelo, etc.

Eubank Jr would have been an acceptable fight. I don’t think anyone would have complained about that. It’s the fact that he is taking on a guy from two weight classes below his own that’s the issue. His statements about how Canelo had too much of a size advantage vs Khan and how that was bad for boxing had a lot to do with why fighting Brook now is seen as hypocritical.

It’s not a good look for Gennady to fight a smaller guy when he is seen as such a big puncher at MW. There’s a lot of factors that make this selection hard to digest. Yesterday we were thinking it was going to be CEJ and we still don’t know what really happened there.

Brook vs GG may be a good fight, but it could also be a mismatch due to the weight he is giving away. A lot of people like Kell Brook and don’t think it’s right to see him give away so much weight. The fact that it is in London does makes it intriguing. It will be a big fight, but it’s just hilarious to me that GG is essentially doing what Canelo did fighting Khan only worse in terms of the weight. That part of it is hilarious. I personally didn’t think there was any problem with Canelo vs Khan, and my reasoning was partly due to the fact that there was a catchweight. I don’t like catchweights in general, but I thought that was actually a good example of a catchweight and good of Canelo to agree to come in at 155 to make it more fair to Khan.

It just seems that GG is trying to do the same thing Canelo did by fighting Brook but not making the sacrifices Canelo made. I understand GG’s position that he can’t make anything below 160 safely, but it still deserves criticism from the weight standpoint and the fact that he’s fighting a welterweight instead of the British MW Champ when he had the opportunity to do that.

I don't get why he doesn't fight Lara. I don't think he's scared, and it would be a good fight. Possible that Haymon doesn't want one of his good fighters to lose, or maybe Lara is asking for too much. But i just don't know why the fight hasn't happened. Would like to hear from Abel or Loffeler their side of the story.

GGG sent the contract to Brook, so if he sent it to Brook why not send it to Lara, who was the more realistic fight?

Canelo/Khan was a catchweight though, for the MW title. Brook moves up to MW, he wants to be great. He is becoming a MW. It was his decision, he called the champ out, negotiated and got the fight. He did the same that Floyd, Manny, Hopkins and RJJ did. He moved up in weigh to become the champ. He will be a MW.

I don't get the problem now. It is basically the same that the haters want GGG to do.

To be fair a fight with Lara would take longer to make and Golovkin is trying to make a fight soon so that he can have another in November/December.
