Looking at pictures of Mike and George, they didn't seem too intimidating. I mean their ability was but as far as physique and face, not really. Sonny's eyes on the other hand to me atleast, just looked so dead and lifeless. I could understand why people named him the original intimidator

I could think of a few, but always felt Ted " kid " Lewis had a very intimidating countenance, very much a hard boned, chiselled granite of a face, aided by two cauliflower ears, his face told you he had been in the hardest of battles, with the hardest of men, would be a brave man to step outside.
    stay safe guys.

    Tommy Hearns!
I remember the pictures of him and Hagler, before their fight, and Hearns glaring out, with those cold, death ray eyes.

You said two of the most intimidating boxers ever bar none, didn't seem intimidating. I don't know how to take that. Especially with them being on nearly everyone's shortlist of intimidating.

I'd say other than the 3 obvious choice, Iran Barkley, his visage definitely felt intimidating.

Whereas some guys get butterflies - an uneasy stomach- ahead of a fight. Some don’t. Others still experience a more heightened sense of nervousness when they feel that spike in adrenaline…and they’ll actually throw up what little was in their stomach. I can only try to imagine what kind of biological response that was invoked in a young fighter who looked across the ring all those years ago and was met with Sandy Saddler’s stoic gaze peering back at him.

Or how quickly do you think the confidence would deflate from your body after your coach puts your mouthpiece in, and turns you around to find a prime Marvelous Marvin Hagler working up a good sweat, seething as he jogs in place and rains bombs down on his own damn forehead??

Carlos Monzon looked like the kind of guy you wouldn't want to come across in an alley.

Best story is Mike Williams going up against Tommy Morrison. Williams, at the last minute, refused to even fight, walked out and got into a cab. I don't know that Tommy's face looks intimidating or whatever, but I suspect Williams was thinking of how much he didn't want to get hit by that left hook.

Top Fighters who had a frightful & scary Street rep, but were also Strong, Fit and Athletic, I think were likely the most intimidating, especially if it was well known and clearly visable, No nonsense effer's.

Duran types and Hundreds others through the years.

the Turn of the Century and early 1900's PRIZEFIGHTERS. Scary capable men.

P4P Jimmy Wilde, the Mighty Atom. According to BoxRec (which I am not going to double-check for lack of time and frankly enough interest), Jimmy had a won-loss record of 131 wins and 4 losses, with 98 stoppages in his favor for a KO percentage of 72 percent.
