Iran Barkley wasn’t a big dude but that stare was scary

Probably Barbados Joe Walcott. A 5'1 dude KOing ranked heavyweights is a terrifying thought.

    Liston, all day.

I used his "I'd just as soon kill you as soon as look at you" glare in prison, worked great.

Also check out the way Holyfield stared down Mike Tyson before their second fight.

Keep in mind, when it's not us in the pre fight weigh in staredowns especially not across the corner about to touch up it's easy to say who is or isn't intimidating.

For fun I'll add Shavers. Tillis said he felt his blows from his face to his a$$hole haha. He wasn't called the biggest puncher for nothing.

I wonder how many top level boxers don’t take 5+ dumps in the hours leading up to a big fight.
If I had to face Mike Tyson I don’t think I’d bother getting off the throne until I was called for the walk.

I see what you mean,Fergy. What about Hearns' dead eye look at Roberto Duran just before round one of their bout?

As I watched more boxing, I learned to put little stock into the pre-fight staredown. Tyson himself “lost” staredowns before the bell rang and he would kick his opponent’s ass.

But at the time in 97’, I didn’t know this and put more emphasis on it When I saw the pre-fight staredown, I thought “god, Tyson doesn’t look confident at all… he actually looks scared” and figured Holyfield would win again.

Jose Ribalta's staredown at Tyson was also pretty good.

Stanley Ketchel, Iran Barkley, Elmer Ray, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns and ofcourse without saying Tyson and Liston.
I dont think they were intimidated but when I saw Lyle and Foreman do that epic staredown in the ring, no lie, I was a little intimidated. Lol

I used to think Tommy looked icy then I heard him on a talk show and his voice… it also didn’t help he was being teased and lost every verbal exchange with Iran- worse was he’d go on to lose the rematch…

Also stare-downs. Never understood how you could be afraid of eye contact- it’s a boxing match he’s gonna hit you, you already know that.

Okay well I suppose he wasn’t little. But comparatively speaking to some of the monsters in this sport ( and others ) I wouldn’t say he was huge. But yes he was a decent sized muscular specimen with a vicious look in his face
