:yep Being an unemployed young ''adult'' stuck in Ireland might have something to do with that. I don't think I'm on the Flea level though, I suppose you could replace his old, great fighters with my, modern and small fighters I am.

This also. I actually think Dirrell gets the most unwarranted hatred here. Beat Froch clearly for me, yet that seems to be the performance where the ''cowardice'' stems from.
If Mijares doesn't get there first I wouldn't mind him seeing him batter the little pest either.

Yeah a ****** who gets in the ring for a living. He'd be much more of a warrior if he was behind a keyboard I reckon.

Yeah Pab, Dirrell beat Froch clearly from where I was viewing.

  5. He gets a lot of criticism because he's such a whiny little girl.

His performance in the Froch fight was embarrassing, aside from making Froch miss plenty he did very little until he was taken a point (belatedly) for holding. I do wonder what the outcome would have been had he been penalised in the 5th/6th like he ought to have been.

A negative style and an irritating personality = an unpopular fighter.

I don't think I did really. It was a fine win no doubt, even I didn't think he'd win it and as you know I'm a Segura-detractor. I merely don't consider it to be the ''victory of the year'' as many people called it. Segura's always been very much unproven to me, I've never particularly liked guys who get by on pretty much a mass size disparity more so than any other aspect of their game, so as a result I didn't consider it some kind of amazing feat. I expected Viloria to outbox him for the most part only to tire out late, which to his credit he didn't even allow us to see if that would end up being the case.

Pre-Segura win he would've been a pretty good answer for this thread actually, because unlike what I said earlier about Diamante and the like, even people who followed Viloria's progress were a bit harsh on the dude.

    I still rate Degale highly.

I think he needs to work on his defence though. Really work on it. It leaks a lot of shots.

I watched the Groves fight last night and I thought Degale could have won it if he had changed his tactics. Groves was not leading and always countering what James did and then moving away. In the 6th round, Degale decided not to come forward at all and not make the fight. There were no punches thrown for the first 55 seconds. Groves was hell-bent on not initiating attacks.

But Degale won the round easily. He chose his moments and landed punches while he was moving away. It was boring as f*ck but probably the easiest round of the fight for him. The correct tactics in that fight for Degale were to simply stop coming forward and catch Groves with the odd shots here and there, which were scoring punches because it was well timed. There was really nothing Groves could do in that round. When Degale came forward he was ineffective because Groves was never really setting his feet and Degale couldn't pin him down and wasn't prepared to exchange punches for fear of getting caught with one.

It would have made for a boring fight but I genuinely believe that Degale could have won it easily if he had fought a negative fight like Groves did.

This shows me that he lacks a good ring IQ though.

His performance was embarrassing? My friend there is more than one way to win a fight, and I dn't find hitting and not being hit to be 'embarrassing' at all. Maybe we should all watch UFC if we want to watch brawls, or stand outside pubs with some pop corn. I thought he won the fight clearly. I give credit to every style of fighting, whether it is defensive or offensive minded.

And yeah what a little girl he is, lacing up gloves and getting in a boxing ring, what a ****ing girl. Dam these internet warriors kill me at times. I just remembered why I only post in the British forum sporadically, thanks for the swift reminder.

The only reason he gets **** is because those who yearn for the sperm of the cobra know that he beat their man. Peace slugfest lover.

I still rate Degale too, not very highly but he is a good fighter. I don't know why people are using the term 'negative' though. I dread that boxing would be full of Michael Katsidis clones. That would be truly **** for me.

  13. Internet warrior? Have a word with yourself.

It was beyond what I'd typically call ''negative'' fighting, anyway, seen as you seem like you're in no mood to listen to anyone that doesn't agree wholeheartedly with you I won't bother.

In terms of my ''whiny little girl'' comment, you didn't hear him almost crying to Jim Grey ''I'm still clueless on the point'' in his post fight interview? And countless other episodes of whiny interviews?

Feel free to stick to the Classic or the ''doesn't warrant it's own thread, thread'', no skin off my nose.

If Bryn or myself or whoever doesn't like a particular fighter, whether it be their style or personality, they're entitled to say so, it doesn't make them an internet tough guy. He's not threatened to burn anyone's house down or beat up their wife and kids.

By all means call them a hater or simply disagree, but quit with the ''holier than thou'' attitude FFS.

Well you're talking a load of **** because one thing I despise is the 'holir than thou' attitude. You'll find I usually refer to it as the 'elitist ******' attitude but that's splitting hairs.

And Bryn called him a ******. That's a load of ****, a huge stinking pile f fesces, the man is a professional boxer, so that ends that.

I think Bryn was only ****ing round though so I'm not even arsed about that, it was a nothing comment from what I saw.

Ok then, we'll have to just agree to disagree. I respectfully think your opinion is an attrocity. I like watching defensive fighters, and more to the point, pure boxers, which is what Andre Dirrel is. A fighter to me who went negative was Derrick Gainer vs Marquez, he actually ran away and din't want to fight, which is different to what someone even like Cory Spinks does/did. I still respect Gainer though and don't think he's anything approaching a ****** or a girl. He's in the ring ffs. Dirrel actually went out and did more than enough to win a boxing fight so I can't agree with you.

Great post though mate, I respect your opinon loads.
