No one seriously hurt him ever that I know of and I saw almost every fight from Briscoe on ... however often forgotten is the first Obel fight where he came dangerously close to punching himself out and had to regroup before pulling a Wlad K. ... that impacted him a great deal in later defenses where he held back a bit in fear of stamina issues over the long distance and definitely played out against Duran ...

Have anyone seen any of the first two Monroe fights? Are they even filmed?

the most trouble as in wobbled or rocked it was Thomas Hearns. In other fights including Mugabi, I do not recall Marvin being wobbled or rocked at all. Hearns wobbled and rocked Marvin in the opening seconds of round one in their fight in 1985.

Eugene Hart belted him pretty solid here:

I'm sure Hagler was glad to hear the end of that round atleast.

I think its overrated that Thomas Hearns hurt Marvin Hagler that badly.

Hagler won every single round of that fight.

Where is he hurt..? he continues to throw punches. He was alerted by the punch, but i would'nt say he was stunned badly or hurt.

The question was which fight was Marvin the most hurt. On the tape you showed of Hagler and Hearns, the punch landed at 47 seconds. Hagler's right leg gives in a little then after the clinch he jumps up and down to get his legs back, something Hagler never did. At 57 seconds he rubs at the area which Hearns hit him. In those 10 seconds Hagler did not throw a punch. He was recovering. To his credit he then recovered and started punching again even though his legs were still a little off for a few seconds. Had Hearns not broken his right hand I think he would have kept on hurting Marvin. Marvin is lucky Tommy busted his hand on his head. To see Hagler hurt just a little was something we never saw.

Marvin Hagler won every single round of the fight mate, he won every single round of the fight mate.

The fight was basically over after the first round.

Tommy Hearns hit him with his best shot, and lets face it. Hagler was not that really hurt, he was not in serious trouble at all. Mildly stunned but that's about it........"He did'nt need to hang on, and he did fire back".

Haglers punches where having more of a affect on Hearns, he was stumbling everywhere.

If Hearns did'nt hurt his hand, he would of still bean beaten up over a longer period of time even more brutally.

I saw them both...but have not been able to find footage of either. The first fight came in the middle of a snow storm, and I have heard that prevented video teams/equiptment from being used??? I can't confirm or deny that though.

That's the story as I read it. If you saw Monroe-Hagler I, that's an extremely valuable eyewitness account. It's the only defeat Marv, and his camp and family did not dispute. (His mother Ida Mae, sitting at ringside, turned to a relative or companion after the final bell and commented, "You know Marvin lost.")

I read Hagler say in interviews that Cyclone Hart hit him the hardest, but that was prior to Hearns. I haven't read or heard anything Marv has said about who had him in the most distress since that war and the end of his career.

Loved the contemptuous way Marv shoved Hart off him after the bell ending round five.

Tommy Hearns. Though I think that fight was not as competitive as believed, there was high drama in the first two minutes or so, a free-for-all atmosphere. A little bad luck in the other direction and Marvin could've been TKO'd on cuts. If Tommy had opened the cut a little further, he could've won the title right there.

Definitely ! Hagler was expecting an easy ride here. The script had been written - Duran was nothing more than a blown up lightweight etc...etc. As we all know,it was anything BUT an easy ride.

I know but the question was about which punch hurt Hagler the most, not whether it mildly stunned him or not. That was more than a mild stun, Marvin was rocked and hurt. His legs went out. But he recovered and he was the natural middleweight and fought the fight he had to. Had Hearns not broken his hand, I figure that would have happened all night with hurting Hagler. If you look at the scorecards not everyone had Marvin winning the first round. Some say Hearns won the first round, but Marvin fought a great fight. The only way he was going to beat Hearns.
I am not sure the fight was over after the first. Had Tommy stayed with the jab and kept punching Marvin could have gotten swollen up. By round 3, Marvin was tired and not at all moving forward with energy. The fact that Hearns was out of gas completely is why he could not capitalize on Marvin being very tired himself.
