Which fighter have you come to think better of due to the debates on this site?

    Any weight class.

    One name.

You can say why, if you want to make it more interesting.

Manny Pacquiao went shooting up due to his quality of work in the last four years.

But what I suspect you want; and sorry Janitor, I am going to name two, as they are clearly connected; the real benefactors would be Barney Ross and Jimmy McLarnin.

This board helped show me their brilliance. (I must admit, I was not sold on neither).

Plus I started reading up on Black Bill...

ezzard charles. he went from a blip on my boxing radar to one of my two favorite fighters ever. the more i learned about his lower weight career, and the more i watched i saw how ridiculous his resume was. he's also a pretty interesting person by all accounts, and that was interesting to read about.

I still get told I underrate Carnera, but I'm much less cynical about him and his career now, largely based on the discussions here.

If we're talking about Classic, the sundry perspectives to be found here have bolstered my view of:

    Dick Tiger
LaMotta (who I was pretty high on to start with)
    Patterson
Galaxy (in a bizarre counter-weight way; he's underrated here)
    Lewis (see note for Galaxy)
Cuevas (despite a lot of reluctance on my part)
Holmes (see notes for LaMotta and Galaxy)
    Flaco Explosivo
    Happy Lora

    ...probably some others.

My opinion of Ruben Carter has gone in the toilet.

My views are exactly as when I entered. Nothing has swayed me in the slightest.

It isn't even a matter of being easily swayed or impressionable.

Being exposed to a vast array of knowledge and different perspectives (especially with the wealth of such offered here, particularly with all the old-timers) has to inform your existing and newly developed opinions on at least some people and events in boxing history. Has to. Law of averages.

Unless you're incredibly stubborn and unreceptive to new ideas.

Oh, and Burley I suppose...although admittedly ESB CF is the first place his name even caught my eye. The more info, the more impressed however...so he does count.

Quite a few actually. Fritzie zivic for 1. All i really knew of him before i came on here was his fights with SRR and Cochrane as well as his 64 losses(i think). Due to a post i made in my naivety on the guy, i got a few well constructed replies that made me take notice of his acheivments throughout his career. Not that im completely sold on his brilliance or anything like that, but i now realise he was a far far superior fighter than which i originally gave him credit for.

Locche would be another i didnt know much about before i came on here, and i was honestly taken back by the guys defenses
