I don't make lists, so it's harder for me to say "Oh yeah; this guy's gone up substantially in my estimation." It's more a question of realizing on a much more general level how good they really were.

Olivares, before the advent of youtube (and Raging B()ll) was to me the prototypical Mexican KO artist; big left hook, just wading through guys. I found in watching film of him since joining ESB that he was actually a very sound boxer, very well-schooled and savvy. The power was just a plus.

Conversely, heavyweights in general have gone down the shitter in my view since watching so much footage of other weights.

Loads, as I wasn't very knowledgable at all when I first came here.

Larry Holmes would be a big one. I didn't really know much about his era or achievements at all before coming here.

It would have to be Napoles and Charles for me ... you knew about them, but you didn't watch as much footage as you should've, that is until you started seeing their names pop up time and time again.

I'd certainly be inclined to call them two of the most effective fighters to ever be captured on film.

Ezzard Charles, Barney Ross, and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad are the prominant ones but dozens of others to some degree or an other.

A ton of guys, but to throw one name out there I'll go with Jack Dempsey. I was basically a blank slate when I got here. Now it's just a slate covered with gibberish; I'm not sure which I prefer.

He's referring to the pretty vocal minority that backs Mr. Barrow as the once and future king of the mountain.

Of course, that vocal minority consists of pretty much just reznick & me, but...

    Luis Manuel Rodriguez.

When I came onto this site, I thought of him primarily as one of Griffith and Napoles's opponents, much like people think of Esteban deJesus only as an accessory to the career of Roberto Duran.

Now I rank Rodriguez higher than Napoles and at least as high as Griffith.

Without a doubt, for me it is Bob Fitzsimmons.

Next would probably be Greb, followed by many others. In fact, i think most champions have gone up, and very few have gone down, if that is possible.
