Well Vitali did appear do go down in the Sanders fight, but the ref called it a slip, in any event Sanders almost had him down.

As far as the article is concerned, we dont know for sure what happend, but we do know Vitali cancelled his fight with Rahman because of his knee injury he sustained on his way down from one of the knockdowns he suffered in sparring. So the article is at least partially true, I forget what the other guys name was, I know one guy knocked him down from a body shot, cant remember which one though? Rapheal or something I think his name was.

If Chagaev has ok power I think he'd have the best chance against Wlad. People still can't seem to make the connection that right-handers will ALWAYS take tremendous punishment from Wlad. Even in his losses to Purrity and Brewster he hit them a ton, but they were able to hang on and not get KOed.

Against lefies, however, Wlad has a much harder time (except for Chris Byrd, he totally has his number). Consider that Sanders beat him (leftie), Ibragimov at least made him look bad (leftie) and Thompson holds the record for most times hitting him (leftie), it means an awkward southpaw is the most likely to be able to hit Wlad. One with power has the best chance of knocking him out.

I'm a Wlad fan but I'd be more scared to see him in there with Chagaev than Haye.

I would give Dimitrenko the best shot... He is tall, upright and physically as strong as the Klits.... Waldo did not look too good against other tall and strong fighters (Thompson).. But nevertheless Dimitrenko would be an outsider...
To Vitaly.. I do not think that he will lose again in his career... He is too strong to aggressive and mean.. most opponents will just mouth at him and **** their pants in the ring...

I could see it either way, and no I dont hate Vitali, my only beef with him was the fact that he held up the division a bit with his failed comeback attempts, ****ing over fights fans, his oppenents, and the division as whole. As fighter I respect the guy to the fullest, mentally he's as tough as they come, and is usually fun to watch fight, which is everything his brother isn't.

I agree about southpaws. it seems he has a harder time getting into his offensive flow. Harder to apply his usual gameplan. He seems much more relaxed against orthodox fighters. That being said, WLad is good enough to change strategy mid-fight and find a forumla that works.

For example, he started throwing lead right hands and body shots at Thompson when his 1-2 and jab wasn't getting through well.

I don't agree about Chagaev though who's solid technically and tough. He's got decent pop but he's similar to Sultan, except slower especially after all the layoffs, illnesses and injuries. He does have a better straight left but he's one-handed imo and doesn't have a high workrate. He is also a natural counter-puncher and won't put pressure on Wlad.

I think it would be another Chess match for about 5 rounds then Wlad starts breaking him down and stopping him late.

1.Haye - because of his speed and power
2.Chagaev - best chin of the bunch and decent power
    3.Povetkin - good chin,good workrate,decent power
4.Dimitrenko - good size, ok power, he may be a bit chinny though

    the rest no chance

Fair enough. I really don't have any clue about Chagaev's power or lack therof. If he's got good power then he has a chance. Someone like Byrd who's slick but lacking in power, well it's always going to be the same in the end.

he's got some left hand power but it's gonna be hard to deliever it on wlad cause he's not really a busy fighter and doesn't apply pressure.

Peter was the last one able to land significant blows on wlad. Why? Because he walked through Wlad's power and put himself in position to land. He also used his brute strength to move Wlad around. I don't think Chagaev is a fighter willing take those kind of shots or risks or has that type of raw strength. It's really hard to land on wlad at distance where Chagaev does most of his damage with that lead left hand. you've got to get into his chest and stay there.

I reckon it will be another "one-sided slapfest" which will have guys like Punisher desperately grasping on to anybody and anyone as the next hw savior :yep:yep:yep

...but name one elite (or even semi decent) fighter he ever KO'd with his ridiculous power...
