Over time something I've noticed is everyone with the ability to come close to match Langfords resume either died young or had to retire young. Ketchel, Miske, John Henry Lewis, Farr, Buddy Baer.

Stribling matched Langfords longevity totals in a fraction of the time but there were a lot more empty calories there, Greb matched Langfords totals but never won a HW title and didn't have power in the NWS era.
