Which fighter has the most impressive back to back wins in boxing history

So which boxer has it?

 

Ken Norton, Joe Frazier, George Foreman in back-to-back-to-back wins is pretty good. They're all Hall of Famers.

 

Stopping Mike Tyson and Vitali Klitschko back-to-back was pretty sweet.

 

Mikkel Kessler, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones back-to-back-to-back was also very good.

Those three wins put Calzaghe in the Hall of Fame. He doesn't come anywhere near the Hall without them.

 

Fighting Harada's back to back's against Jofre certainly warrants consideration. I'd like to know more about Fighting Harada.

 

On August 10, 1900 Bob Fitzsimmons KOd top contender Gus Ruhlin in 6 rounds. On August 24, 1900 Bob KO'd the great contender Tom Sharkey in 2 rounds. Surely this great fighter Fitzsimmons, who just may be the greatest pound for pound ever is the winner.

 

Jimmy McLarnin. After his three-fight series with Barney Ross for the world welterweight championship in which he narrowly lost the rubber match, he then beat all-time lightweight greats Tony Canzoneri and Lou Ambers and then retired. As good a conclusion to a career as any fighter has had in history.

 

Kessler is no all time great, Hopkins was an old man and Jones was completely shot. Who did Kessler ever actually beat apart from Froch ? I thought Froch won both fights anyway. Ward toyed with the Dane.

Joe's resume is all smoke n mirrors in my opinion. I actually admired his will to win, his old school fitness and his mental toughness and cleverness inside the ring but Joe was always well protected by Frank Warren and never a guy who loved to fight or who was very willing to take risks. He and Ottke were a pretty wretched pair of alphabet title holding, bum of the month fighting guys who really milked the daylights out of their respective alphabet belts.

Supermiddleweight was a very obscure weight class mainly populated by small lightheavys and fat middleweights in Joe and Sven's prime.

 

Yep, thats the one I first thought of. Defeating Ayub Kalule and Thomas Hearns consecutively were very good wins for Sugar Ray Leonard too.

 

Mate Harada was an absolute legend, he came within a point or two on Willie Pep's disgraceful scorecard of being a three time old school weight division champion. He was undisputed flyweight champion, undisputed bantamweight champ and should have been WBC featherweight champion as I believe he was robbed in the first Famechon fight.

A guy who in my opinion doesnt get enough credit, he was always an incredibly entertaining fighter as well as a great one.

 

Mike Tysons streak was impressive until he started slacking off and lost to buster douglass.

He knocked out Trevor berbick in 2 rounds, berbick was a highly regarded champion that was very strong and had incredible punch resistance

He knocked out the undefeated champion michael spinks in round 1

He was the first man to ever knock out larry holmes which he did in round 4 (many mention that Holmes was past his prime, which is true, but Holmes did go on after this loss to beat ray mercer and go the full 12 rounds against a prime evander holyfield)

And he beat another undefeated champion when he fought Tony Tucker.

He knocked out Carl the truth williams in round one

And knocked out British champ Frank Bruno in round 5

Max Schmeling and John Henry Lewis, back to back, both in the first round.

 

He may have won narrowly in unimpressive fashion over Frazier but....Ali has NEVER "beaten" Ken Norton
