Greb back to back over Walker and Rosenbloom was ok.
Charles back to back over Burley.
    SRR over Zivic x 2.

I was looking at Carlos Ortiz' record and was amazed at the level of talent he was duking it out with and beating. Earlier in his career he scores a consecutive quad (Ok, I made it up) over top contenders Len Matthews, Kenny Lane, Battling Torres and Duilio Loi. And then later in his career he does it again over Sugar Ramos, Flash Elorde, Sugar Ramos again and Ismael laguna. Damn, that's impressive.

In September 1917 in the span of 8 days Greb beat three hall of famers: He dominated former LHW champ and P4P great Jack Dillon, he defeated current LHW champ Battling Levinsky dropping him and having him out on his feet at the final bell, and he dominated top contender Jeff Smith. In a span of three weeks in 1919 he defeated Mike Gibbons, Bill Brennan, and Battling Levinsky.. Later in August/Sept of that year in a three week period he defeated Bill Brennan, Jeff Smith, and Levinsky.

    On paper

Tyson was shot and Vitali was highly competitive with the fight ending only because of a cut.

Given proper context, it is certainly not the best back to back wins in boxing history.

Pernell Whitaker beat Buddy McGirt to win the lineal WW title then schooled and embarrassed an undefeated JCC 6 months later. Both fighters were in the top 5 p4p when Whitaker beat them.

Problem is...in the old days...the fighters fought a lot to make money, so they fought a "big fight"...then maybe a tune-up as a cycle...as opposed to now, when fighters might fight "big fights" every 6-8 months apart.
SRay Robinson as a welter, beat undefeated Marty Servo, and Fritzie Zivic (111/113 wins) two times, over 3 months. (back-back-back)

Back in the 60's, there were a lot of really good "smaller weight fighters" fighting each other, but today they aren't recognized for the depth of their divisions.

In recent days I would have to say Joe Calzage, he has quite a few good scalps in his resume. Ward also has a nice amount of heads for a short career & his youth but not sure he is done. Uysk already has a nice resume with 14 fights & Gassiev doing well. I love these guys who fight one another & always hated the era's where the best did not fight the best. Floyd $$ did not always fight when his opponents were fresh but he has a great resume for recent times & what he had in front of him & he knew how to win.

Where are those great back to back wins of Bubi Scholz and Laszlo Papp that prompted you to rate them so highly? No? Didnt think so...

Manny Pacquiao who’s previous fight was a title win at Lightweight went on in his next fight to beat Oscar De La Hoya followed by Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosley and Juan Manuel Marquez before his winning streak was stopped by Tim Bradley.

De La Hoya, Mosley and maybe Hatton were past their best but still that’s a impressive consecutive run of opponents.
