Yep -- for many years I just could not forgive Sal for beating the man in my avatar. Sanchez has some good fans on ESB, and they have shown me a new appreciation for him!

Marciano. From what I'd read, had heard, and seen from limited footage, I just thought he beat guys into submission with strength and stamina, and I credited a marginal (I thought) resume. Reading more about him and seeing most of his fights in the last couple years, there was alot more to him. Most notably is his defense the way he rotated his torso like his spine was rubber, and his crouching, all while setting up an offense that came from all angles and times with great power in both hands. No doubt he had a great chin, but if he took shots with the frequency and accuracy that Margarito does, I doubt Rock would be undefeated.

Ali: Again with availability of so much footage on the net I was amazed @ his overall early career skillset. He still looks completely modern, like he could take on any fighter ever, and be the favorite to win IMO. Then there's the Foreman fight. For years I was told he just layed on the ropes and let Foreman punch himself out, hitting Ali's arms or missing altogether, without inflicting any damage Ali. Then when I finally saw the fight I was shocked at the punches that Ali took, as well as the punishment he handed out throughout the fight.
